Ghoraiybah

These are excellent. I added 1/8 C brown sugar, some vanilla and use 1/2 T of cardamom, and only needed to cook mine 15 minutes, and they are sooo tasty! yum yum.

Ricotta Gnocchi

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
I sort of made this tonight. I used whole wheat flour for dietary reasons and served with alfredo sauce, as we can't have tomatoes. I think I ended up using more flour than I should have, as the gnocchi was a little bland. I think that was my fault and I didn't use enough parmesan. I also had to cook them a lot longer than 1 to 2 minutes, but again, I think that was the wheat flour. I'll definitely try this again though, and it WAS super easy and didn't really take that long.

Fasoliyyeh Bi Z-Zayt (Syrian Green Beans with Olive Oil)

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
I made this tonight, only due to dietary issues, omitted the cilantro. I added a little black pepper, extra garlic and less olive oil. I let my beans get mildly browned. I loved them, they were so good and I will NEVER boil (as I learned from grandma) my green beans again.

Kafta (BBQ)

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
This was very easy and quite tasty. My grandma, who hasn't had much ethnic food at all, even decided she liked it. My husband, who is very stuck in a rut as far as "burgers" go, liked them too.

Cheese Bourekas

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
I liked these, as did my husband and grandparents, but I had a hard time making them. They pop open when baking and do not stay closed and cheese leaks everywhere. They were greasy too. My family liked them a lot though.

Schweine Ohren (Pig's Ears)

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2009
VERY simple to make and very tasty. Not over the top. Simple flavor, just pastry and sugar, so if you are looking something with grand flavor, try a different recipe. I did however like this very much and so did my husband.
