Chunky Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: May 11, 2009
Shhh... don't tell my Grandma... but this soup is better than hers. I did have to change it a bit because I didn't have all the ingredients. I used 1L of chicken broth and about 6 cups of water and a heaping TBS of the broth granules. I also omitted the carrots and put in 1 1/2 cups of cooked basmati rice instead of noodles. Oh, and I cooked cut up chicken breast with the onion and celery at the begining. It was delicious! And I'm having trouble not eating the whole pot before my hubby gets home from work.

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies IV

Reviewed: May 1, 2009
These were really good cookies. Not too sweet, and easy to make. I couldn't find macadamia nuts that wern't salted, so I bought the salted ones and rinsed off the salt. It worked fine, but I would cut the salt back in the recpie though, maybe to a 1/4 tsp. Also, I doubled the recpie but didn't even use a full bag of white chips because that would have been too many (although I never use the full amount of chips in any recpie because I don't like a lot)

The Best Ever Chicken Nuggets

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2009
These were great! The chicken was very juicy. I whipped them up for dinner in about 15 minutes. I scaled the recipe down for 2, and I think that there was too much flour. I used about half a cup for 2 good sized chicken breasts. Next time I may also add some pepper flakes to the flour mix. Don't worry if you don't have a thermometer, I don't and mine came out perfect! Thank you!

Party-Size Greek Couscous Salad

Delicious! It tastes just like the one I make with pasta, but the couscous has a great texture. Thanks!

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2009
The taste of these wings were excellent, however, I found the texture wierd. I think there was too much flour for the amount of wings as they had a flour-y texture after cooking even though I used 24 wings instead of 10 with the same amount of flour mixture. I did bake them though, so that may have changed it. I'm trying them again tonight with less flour. But even with the texture, they were still the best wings I've ever had. Thank you! *Update* With less flour these rock! They are the PERFECT chicken wing!

Cheesecake Topped Brownies

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2009
OK, these were hard to rate. I would give them a 2 because they fell apart horribly, but they tasted awesome, so that would be a 5. I decided on a 4 because taste is more important than presentation... to me anyway. I don't think that our box of brownie mix in Canada is as big as yours, because the brownie layer was really skinny! Next time I'll use 2 boxes. Anyways, they were a hit at my husbands work, so I'm sure I'll make them again.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2009
Wow! I made these for my husband to take to work for "chocolate friday" and they were a huge hit! I hade to make more on Saturday just so I could try one...or 3 :). At first, the dough seemed really dry to me, but they baked up nicely. The only choc chip cookie recipe I will use from now on!

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
Fantastic! I brought it to easter dinner and it was a huge hit! While it was baking I was reading more reviews and saw that some people were saying the filling wass leaking out. Well, mine wasn't, in fact, there was hardly any. So I made another batch of the caramel, but this time only made half, and poured it into it while baking through the hole I made in the top (I used a full crust b/c lattice looked too hard!)Anyways, rave reviews from eveyone. Thanks for sharing!

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2009
Delicious! I topped it with choc. ganache and strawberries and brought it to Easter dinner. Everyone thought I was an amazing cook. I have to tell you though, I forgot to grease the pan and it didn't crack or stick (must have been some sort of miracle)! I also used the tip of putting the lumpy mix through a strainer, and that really helped as I mixed the whole thing by hand and it was hard to get the lumps out. Thanks for the recipe!

Wonton Soup without Ginger

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2009
Ok, so here's the thing. I didn't really try this recipe... it just really helped me out so that's why I'm giving it 5 stars. I was sick, and wanting some soup, so I sent my husband out to get frozen won tons from our local asian supermarket. He also picked uo Knorr wonton soup seasoning and I planned on just makind that, but it was terrible! So, I looked this up and added sesame oil and soy sauce and it made the soup great! Next time, when I'm not sick, I'll make the full recipe. Thanks for saving my soup!

Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2009
Seriously addicting! I've made this more times than I can count and it is fabulous! I didn't realize that I was out of white sugar and had already started making it, so I subed in brown sugar. It worked well, just a bit sweeter than the white sugar is. I've kept the brown sugar on top because it has a better flavour and texture than the white sugar did (I tried it as per the recipe the next time I made it). Overall, AMAZING and easy! Thank you for making me look like an awesome chef!

Easy Indian Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2009
This was my first time making Indian food and it was great. Make sure you taste the recipie though, because I had to add MUCH more tandoori and garam masala. It was much to tomato-y for our liking, so I added probably 2 more tsp of tandoori (right into the sauce) and 4 or so more tsp of garam masala to make it taste just like our favourite Indian resturant. I also had to thicken it with some flour and water because the sauce was very thin. Over all though, it was excellent and I'm glad to have a great recipe to make at home. It will save us a lot of money when we're craving Indian food!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2009
I tried these once, baking them for 18 minutes, and didn't think they were anything special, but my husband liked them so I tried them again. This time, I only cooked them for 16 minutes and it was a world of difference! They were much more flavourful. Everyone raved about them and I've made them about 5 times in a week. Watch the cooking time because if you even slightly over cook them (2 minutes difference) they are dry.
