I am a full time mother of three. I work part time at a local bar & grill. This helps me get recipe ideas from all my coworkers and regulars.
My favorite things to cook
Some of my favorite things to cook are new vegetarian dishes. My husband is a vegetarian; so I am always on the look out for something new that the kids might like.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We all like to cook together. We live close to a large market that carries products from all over the world; we enjoy picking new items to try. The kids will try almost anything once.
My cooking triumphs
Every year for Thanksgiving we choose a different country and then we make a few items. This is a triumph to me because my extended family that normally would be a meat and potato bunch gets to try new things also. I love seeing the look an someones face when they have something that they usually would not and they find out they like it!!!!
My cooking tragedies
I went to culinary school for a bit, I took the long way around to realise that I prefer to cook for the love of it not for money :(

Tomato-Curry Lentil Stew
I loved this as a base for a good stew. My husband is a vegetarian so I am always looking for a good meatless main dish. I added four large potatos and tripled the curry powder. We love spices so I always add more than called for. But with more curry powder it gave more of an Indian flair. Great with a big chunk of crusty bread. Will def make again.

Cheesy Polenta Casserole
I loved this dish My husband is a vegetarian and I made it for Thanksgiving (along with a pork loin for the meat eaters). I used frozen pepper and onion mix i also added extra garlic and doubled the whole recipe. In place of the fontina i used the italian mixed cheese and then I topped it with fresh sliced mozzerella. This was a huge hit It was all gone but there was pork left over...
