Delicious! I used the full amount of vanilla and 1/2 c. more of the cereal.

Beef and Cabbage Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2013
I made this stew in the crockpot. I mixed all ingedients, except meat, into slow cooker. I then coated meat in flour and added them to the mix. Because of the extended cook time I used 3 or 3.5 cups of beef broth. It didn't turn out soupy at all. There was plenty of flavor without adding the bullion cube. (I prefer to cut back on sodium and msg.) I also added 1 tsp of dried rosemary and 1 tsp of dried parsley for more flavor.

Raisin Spice Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2012
This is delicious. I better make sure to write this one down! It's very soft and moist. I used butter instead of shortening and added 3 tsp. vinegar to skim milk, since that's what I had on hand, instead of buttermilk. I'm eating two big pieces right from the pain as I type this. I'm sure it'll get even better with time!

Orange Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2011
Simply amazing! Sprinkled with cinnamon these are delicious muffins! I accidentally picked up pineapple orange juice instead of regular orange juice but it was still great.

Chai Tea Mix

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2011
This is very good. I used sweetener instead of the sugar since I am making this for a diabetic brother for Christmas. I also didn't have cardamom so I left it out. It was still delicious and it mixed just find without blending it!

Good 100% Whole Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2011
This is great whole wheat bread. I was skeptical, since it's so hard to make whole wheat bread that's not rock hard and there are few ingredients in this bread. However, it turned out great!

Hearty Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2011
This is one of the best soups I've tried from this site and I've tried many. I put everything in a crock pot, using evoo instead of butter and adding a bay leaf and a dash of hot sauce. I also added cubed chicken. It was delicious. I just made it last night but am thinking of making more today to freeze for later.

Curly Noodle Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2011
This is a very simple and very yummy soup. I didn't think it would have much flavor but it really does. I liked it even before I added a dash of hot sauce! I made this in the slow cooker. I put three chicken breasts on the bottom of the slow cooker and placed everything else on top. After 7 hours I added the frozen corn and noodles. I used low sodium chicken broth and salt free diced tomatoes and it still tasted great.

Chicken Jambalaya I

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2011
This was a lot better than I thought it would be! I used no salt added diced tomatoes and less butter than it called for. It really was tasty! I used brown rice instead of white rice and simmered it for about 15 extra minutes.

Fluffy Whole Wheat Biscuits

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2011
These are 5 stars for whole wheat biscuits. They really are light and fluffy. They're not buttery and flaky, but rather hearty and filling. I'm always looking for healthy alternatives and some recipes turn out to be hard as rock and very unappetizing. These were a very nice surprise!

Mayan Hot Chocolate

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2011
This was pretty good. I will make it again, but with changes. I will add more cinnamon and less cayenne pepper. Maybe my pinch is bigger than others, but it was just too much for me!

Simple Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2011
This is very very good chili! I cooked the meat first and then added everything to a slow cooker. I doubled the recipe so that I can freeze some. This is more of a soupy chili, with the 2 cups of water, but I'm sure that has to do with the fact that I used the slow cooker. If you want a thicker chili add a little less water! I will make this again.

Baja Grilled Chicken Wrap

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2011
This is THE BEST wrap that I've ever eaten, bar none. My husband and I both loved them. I didn't have any lime juice so I left that out. I also used a mix of cheddar and pepperjack cheese because that's what I had on hand. I only have a George Foreman grill, so I used that. I simply left the grill open and flipped them over half way through. Yum! This made about five full wraps, with a few bites left over. Enjoy!

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2011
These really are THE BEST cookies! My husband and I both really loved the. I made the small, gingersnap sized, and 5-6 minutes was plenty to keep them soft. For crunchy gingersnap-like cookies, try 8 minutes. Either way, they are great!

Winter Lentil Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2011
This is very good! I rinsed and drained the lentils, but skipped the boiling. I then cooked this on high for 5 hours in a slow cooker and the lentils were plenty done. The spices were perfect. Nothing is worse than bland lentils, but this was tasty! I also added some chopped zucchini and loved it.

Brown Rice Veggie Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2011
This was delicious stir fry. I eat this as a vegetable main dish. I sliced the carrots instead of shredded and added them at the same time as the zucchini. I also used canned mushrooms at that was fine. I will definitely be making this again!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2011
This was very good. I added half a bag of frozen mixed vegetables and some sliced celery. It made it a little on the runny side so before I put the biscuit dough on top I added a couple of Tablespoons of flour in some water to the slow cooker. It thickened right up. My husband loved it. 20 ounces of biscuit dough is too much! I suppose it depends on how big your slow cooker is though. I probably used about 10 or 12 ounces on top and it covered the whole surface. Next time, I will use even less, as there seemed to be too much dough and not enough chicken and sauce. Thanks for the great recipe. I will make this again!

Egg in a Boat

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2011
My mom has made these for many years, and now that I've been married my husband often says, "Can I have the egg in the whole in the toast?" We usually only eat these for special occasions or when one of us is sick. It's easy yet makes eggs and toast a little more special.
