Christmas Morning Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2011
Super easy to make, and tasty to boot! It was a little blander than I thought it would be, so I suggest adding a bit of salt/pepper, and/or a side of spicy salsa!

Oatmeal Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2011
Yum. Five stars for simplicity and healthiness. The muffins are hearty. I didn't use quick cooking oats, I used rolled oats, and I used hazelnut oil instead of vegetable oil. The only danger is leaving the muffins in too long (I left them in probably two minutes too long and so they were slightly brown). But yummy nonetheless!

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

Yummy! Chewy and decadent; the changes I made include using butter instead of shortening or margarine, and instead of plain peanut butter, I used cinnamon raisin peanut butter from Peanut Butter & Co. Delicious!

Meaty Spaghetti Sauce

I've been making this recipe for several years now, after I first discovered it. My fiance absolutely loves it, and the long cook time is well worth the beautiful, chunky, delicious sauce that comes out!

Chocoberry Torte

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
Easy to make, and looks great with fresh berries on top. I used raspberries and the cake looked great! My cake turned out a tad dry, but likely my oven probably required less time than the 22 minutes recommended here. Would definitely make it again!

Cream Corn Like No Other

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
Very good cream corn. I halved the recipe, and omitted the sugar and cheese. I think in the future I'll use less milk, since it was a little watery so I compensated by adding more flour but it seemed a little too thick afterward.

Red Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
These are the best homemade mashed potatoes I've ever had. Served these during Christmas dinner and people could not stop with the seconds, thirds, fourths! Changes I made are adding 2 smashed cloves of garlic in the boiling water and then mashing it with the potatoes afterward, using milk instead of half and half, omitting the sugar, adding 1 teaspoon of steak seasoning, and 1 teaspoon of garlic powder. I also kept the skins on, and just mashed it for a chunky mash. Delicious, restaurant like mashed potatoes!

Easy Turkey Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2010
Delicious gravy - I had to do a lot of tweaks, since I didn't have things like turkey stock/pan drippings, so I used three cans of beef stock, 1 can condensed cream of chicken and mushroom salt, almost 1/2 cup flour and 2 tablespoons of cornstarch. Deliciousl

They don't look great, but they sure taste good! Be vigilent past the 8 min mark, they burn easily!

Fabulous Foolproof Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
Delicious! Instead of using sausage I used ground lamb (which I browned with chopped garlic), and I also used a 24 oz jar of spaghetti sauce. I also put it in the oven for 45 minutes covered, and 15 uncovered. This was my first time making lasagna and it was yummy!

My Crab Cakes

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
Great recipe, doesn't need any changes at all! The only thing I did different was that I flash deep fried them in a deep fryer at 360 degrees for a minute and a half instead of cooking them in oil over the stove - success!

Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Bread

LOVED it! So easy, moist, and fluffy! Great flavor. I used the trick of putting 1.5 packets of oatmeal into the bread, and .5 packets on top. Most of it stayed on, and the crumble like topping was delicious!

Quick and Easy Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
A definite hit; definitely use one cup of flour, and be sure to mix the ingredients in the 'standard' order - sugar and butter first, then eggs and vanilla, and then add all the dry ingredients, with nuts or chocolate chips last (I used chocolate chunks from chocolate squares); so simple to make and so tasty!

Pat's Baked Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2009
This recipe is great! These are the best baked beans I've ever had. I didn't use the large medley of different beans - I used four cans of pinto beans, and one can of baked beans. Everything else I kept to a tee. Soooo good! This is definitely my new barbeque dish! It was also a hit at the BBQ I brought it to today!

German Lentil Soup

Perfect for wintertime (I know, I made it in the summer, but still good) and for great leftovers that will keep well. I used fresh chopped garlic instead of garlic powder, 7 cups of chicken broth instead of 3, and 5 drops of insanity sauce. YUM!

Blueberry Pound Cake

Wow! Moist, thick, scrumptious pound cake! The fresh blueberries are definitely a good addition, and the thick batter makes the cake super moist (all that butter and sugar - mm). I didn't have to make a single modification to this recipe!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

These are the best chocolate chip cookies I have ever made. Hands down. I didn't even modify the recipe one bit. I cut the receipe in half, but that's all! And I used Irish butter. This was so easy and so tasty!
