Halibut Florentine

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
My husband agrees with the other raters who said why ruin good fish. I don't really care for fish, so i thought the cheese would make it better. . . turns out the fish just made the cheese taste worse. I will not make this again.

Spicy Black Bean Cakes

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2009
despite my intstincts I made this recipe as is. It turned out dry and stringy. I did not like it. The idea was there but there are a lot of things i would change to make it again. I would bake or boil the sweet potatos before hand, mash them and then add the black beans and put through a food processor to create a smooth mixture. Add all the rest of the ingreediants except the bread crumbs and then roll balls into crumbs and bake that way. I think it will come out much better the next time i make it using the above directions.

Sweet Sweet Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2009
I never knew i loved sweet potatoes until now, this casserole was great. I left out the pecans because i didnt have any on hand and i used fresh coconut flakes. I did use a food prosessor to mash the sweet potatoes up before adding them to the rest of the ingrediants which was just easier. it reheats great too. this will definetly be added to my holiday menu every year!

Lemon and Mustard Dipping Sauce for Artichokes

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
I liked this dip and im not really a fan of mustard too much so i enjoyed the lemoney flavor. I used a seedy mustard that i have found i liked over others so it probably depends on themustard you use as to the flavor of the dip. Overall though i really did like this recipe.

Butternut Squash Risotto

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
Great Recipe. easily a new favorite. I will definetly be making this for thanksgiving hoping to wow everyone! I added a little extra wine in the end because i didnt think it was creamy enough. I took the advice of using only 3 cups stock not 5 and i think to make it perfect next time i will use 4 because it came out slightly dry (before i added the extra wine) but overall it was great!

Tantalizing Turkey and Blue Cheese Meatballs

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2009
Great recipe, i added 2x the blue cheese to give it more flavor, and 2x the bred crumbs, and made spaghetti with my from scratch tomatoe sauce with asparagus. I also used white pepper instead of black as i do with any turkey recipe, and i added a fair amount of hot sauce. It was absolutly delicious. I really enjoyed the recipe and will definetly make it again. I have cooked with gound turkey a lot and have never gotten my dishes to come out as moist as these balls. I would definetly rotate the balls often while in the oven to keep them from sticking to to pan.

Baby Carrots And Brussels Sprouts Glazed With Brown Sugar and Pepper

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2009
I really liked this recipe although it was difficult to do. I would definetly use the smallest brussel sprouts you can find as others had suggested. The ones i already had were larger and they took a lot longer to cook. I will definetly try it again though with smaller sprouts.

Simple Whole Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2009
This was a great and easy recipe. It was so simple and yet tasted so delicious. I doubled the spices as others suggested, and i tightly wrapped the chicken in plastic to marandaide to keep the spices on the skin. I have never had such a juicy chicken. I will make this again and again im sure.
