Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2013
This was alright. I like the idea of the chicken cooking with just a little butter and the seasoning. The cream cheese combined with cream of chicken soup made it a little too heavy and rich for my taste. I served it over brown rice. I will probably make this again and serve over egg noodles.

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2013
These were decent. I admit Im not a baker by any means. I think these would be great with more practice. Its kind of a lot to make a whole doughball, roll it out, etc. I overcooked on accident so mine came out too hard and chewy (my own fault). I may make these again.

Potato Bread II

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2013
Awesome. Followed the recipe to the letter. Result was a nice, chewy loaf that I loved. I'm not a big white bread fan. I like bread with more wheat and grains in it. This loaf was fantastic though! I am definitely putting it in the regular rotation on my bread machine!

Chicken and Biscuit Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2013
This was just ok. I guess Im not a big casserole person. It reminded me too much of bland food I was forced to eat as a kid. Decent enough for a meal, but not something I would crave later. I give one extra star for the use of chicken stock and flour instead of a can of campbell's cream of chicken soup.

Chicken Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2013
Very good for comfort food enchiladas! I sauteed onion in olive oil, added garlic powder, chili powder and cumin. Added 1 can cream of mushroom, 1 can cream of chicken. Then added shredded chicken (rotisserie), bell pepper, 1 can diced tomatoes, sour cream, and half of the grated cheese. Rolled it up in flour tortillas and topped with a can of green enchilada sauce and the remainder grated cheese. Phenomenal!

Chicken Parmesan

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2013
WOW!!! Amazing. I never would have thought that the addition of flour would make such a great tasting, crispy crust. Followed the directions to the letter.I used only 2 cups panko and 3 eggs, and I only had a little bit of leftover marinara sauce as well. But it turned out fantastic! Chef John you never disappoint me. Viva la Chef John!! This is my new favorite chicken parm recipe and I will use it over and over!!

Slow Cooker Creamy Potato Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2013
Finally an amazing potato soup recipe! Have tried many others and they were just ok, until this one. I sauteed the bacon, removed the meat, and added chopped onion, carrot, and celery to the bacon grease. After cooking that for a while, I added it to the diced potatoes in the crockpot. Added chicken stock, water, salt and pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, red chili flake and dill. Also 2 cubes of buillon. Cooked on high for 4 1/2 hours. Took out about 1/2 of the soup, pureed it, then added it back in with the flour/water and evaporated milk. 30 more minutes and it was perfection. Topped bowls with chopped bacon and shredded cheese. Perfecto! Phenomenal!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Fantastic Recipe. Absolutely great comfort food! I used 3 jumbo chicken breasts (frozen) with some season salt and chicken seasoning, 2 cans cream of chicken soup, 1 can chicken stock, 1 onion, and some carrots and celery. Low for 7 hours, then used about 1 1/2 small tubes of biscuit dough, set to high for 1 hour. Result? Perfection.

Shredded Beef Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2012
This was good. I followed the directions pretty much to the letter. I poured a can of red enchilada sauce over the top before I cooked it in the oven. The result was ok, I just feel like its missing something to give it that pop.

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2012
This was a great recipe! Loved it! After rolling the chicken and securing it with toothpicks, I dipped it in egg and then a breadcrumb mixture. Cooked it in a pan with 3 tbls butter and 3 tbls olive oil for 10 min. Placed chicken on a wire rack over a cookie sheet and transferred to a 350 oven for 25 min. While the chicken was in the oven, made the sauce in a saucepot on the stove, combining wine, bouillon, cornstarch, basil and heavy cream, letting it simmer and then poured over chicken before serving. Amazing! Loved it!!!

This was good! Tasted a little bit more like a health bar than a dessert, but considering the ingredients, I thought this was a fantastic dessert. Way to keep it healthy!

Oven Roasted Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2011
I agree with other reviews here- keep it simple. Salt, pepper, and some rosemary or basil. I use a bowl to toss it in because I try to avoid plastic! Turned out great. What a wonderful side dish. NOTE- this also works great with sweet potatoes!

Gnocchi I

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2011
Simple, tasty, and awesome. Cant believe I actually made this from scratch! I dont think I boiled the potatoes long enough, or I didnt add enough flour, because the end result was more potato than anything else. I will keep trying this though, as I am not very good with baking or recipes that call for flour. I served this with some marinara sauce and it was great! In the future I will try to add more ingredients, or experiment with a different sauce.

Country Style Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2011
HAHAHHA this was good! I really liked this! Nice comfort food. In order to make it a little healthier, I put olive oil in the baking dish instead of butter, and I used an egg wash (also instead of butter). After 75 min I took off the tin foil cover and baked another 10 min uncovered to make the crust on the chicken a little crisper. Result was great!! Easy, quick to make, my tummy is happy.
