Fluffy French Toast

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2009
Great recipe. Although I couldn't really tell much of a difference with the inclusion of the flour, if anything it reduced the sogginess a bit. I would recommend letting thicker breads soak in the mixture for a little bit longer though, I noticed the flavor didn't soak through the bread unless I let it soak for about 10-15 mins in the fridge. Will definitely make again.

Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2009
So good and so easy! I multiplied all the ingredients by .75, and I found that this made the perfect amount for a base and lattice top (with a little extra to spare). If you don't have a pastry cutter, a whisk works pretty well.

Parmesan Roasted Corn on the Cob

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2009
This came out really well and was VERY easy! We are not huge fans of mayo, but you couldn't taste it once it was grilled. We used fat-free mayo and had only minor problems with the ingredients sticking to the corn, next time will try non-stick foil!

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2009
Amazing! Only change I made was to use 6 apples instead of 8; I'm honestly not sure how 8 would even fit! Otherwise, I made it exactly according to the recipe and had RAVE reviews. Side note: the crust I made was perfect with this pie, and I used the recipe titled "Ruth's Grandma's Pie Crust" that I also found on allrecipes.

Apple Oatmeal Cookies II

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2009
I agree with the other reviews about adding brown sugar. I didn't add it this time but I definitely will next time - the honey doesn't add much sweetness. They are good as far as lower fat cookies go, but not as good as regular oatmeal cookies. The apples were a really nice addition :)

Rich and Chocolaty Syrup Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2009
Good chocolate fix without having to go to the grocery store. A little on the interesting side - it was like a mix between cake and brownies - but that could have been due to not frosting it. I garnished it with confectioner's sugar instead of frosting, as that is what I had on hand. Next time, I think it would be good with a simple orange glaze (reduction of confectioner's sugar and OJ - really easy) or with icing/frosting. Definitely tasted like chocolate syrup!
