Delicious Raspberry Oatmeal Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2011
Excellent recipe! I doubled the recipe for a 9x13 inch glass pan and used about 2 cups of filling (blueberry, raspberry, cherry jelly). I also added some vanilla extract and lemon zest to the cookie part of the recipe and it came out great!

Bacon Cheddar Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
Didn't care so much for these. I think I'd prefer the traditional deviled egg over this one. I love bacon but didn't care for the consistency of the filling and the look of the eggs.

Tiramisu Layer Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
Absolutely delicious! I made this for a Christmas dinner but will definitely be making it for other events as well. There were a few Italian guests in the mix that night and they said it was the best Tiramisu cake they ever had. Thank you for a great recipe!

Brown Family's Favorite Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2010
I've used this recipe for years now and it is a success every time. I'm not a huge fan of the regular pumpkin pie due to the lack of different textures. However, here you get the smooth pumpkin along with the crunchy topping. It is a sure winner!

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
Delicious cookie! I changed the recipe slightly as I didn't have any raisins. Instead I added cranberries, walnuts and white chocolate chips. I also added about 3 oz. of vanilla pudding mix as I had some left over and needed to use it. Instead of cloves I added a little pumpkin spice and out came a wonderful cookie with a beautiful texture (crispy outside, soft inside). A perfect oatmeal cookie recipe that will now be added to my favorites.

Catherine's Spicy Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2009
This soup totally hit the spot! I was in the mood for something spicy but didn't really feel like making chili so this was perfect and quick and not as heavy. I followed the recipe for the most part with the exception of the amount of chicken. I only had 4 chicken breasts in the freezer so I used that and it seems like a sufficient amount of chicken. I just had some of the soup for lunch and hadn't even let it cook long enough. Can't wait to try it again tonight! I'm going to be serving it with cornbread and topped with sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese. I will be keeping this recipe for my collection!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2009
Wonderful recipe! I took the advice of some of the other reviewers and made a bit more sauce than what the recipe called for. I then mixed 3/4 of the sauce with the chicken and vegetable filling before pouring it in to the crust and poured the remaining sauce over the top of the filling. I also pre-baked the bottom crust for about 5 minutes before pouring in the filling. I baked it at 375 degrees for about 45 minutes and it came out beautifully! My whole family loved it including my three-year-old son who said it was a "delicious pie". We reheated the leftovers the next day for lunch and I dare say it was almost better after sitting in the fridge overnight. The crust wasn't soggy at all and all the flavors had melted together beautifully. This is a real comfort food recipe and I will definitely be making this again for a cool fall or winter night.

Chocolate Chip Banana Bread I

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2009
The best banana bread/cake I have ever had! I made two loaves of this banana bread, one for my son's daycare with just chocolate chips since they can't have anything with nuts and one for ourselves with nuts and chocolate chips. The daycare loved it and we did too! I don't know how long it will stay moist because it was gone within two days! I will most definitely be using this recipe whenever I make banana bread in the future!

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2009
I followed Carthecook's recommendations for this recipe and got rave reviews when I brought it to an Easter dinner. I believe the "best lemon meringue pie ever" words were mentioned in there somewhere. I'm not a huge fan of lemon desserts myself but I must say that this was delicious and I will definitely add it to my favorites!

Chicken Tortellini Soup With Zucchini and Tomatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2009
I altered the recipe slightly to our liking and added carrots, onions and celery along with the tomatoes instead of the zucchini but I'm sure that would have been wonderful too. I was hesitant about the tomatoes but they a nice comforting, yet refreshing taste to the soup. For the stock I got a lemon/pepper/garlic rotisserie chicken and it complemented the flavors splendidly. I also used dried spinach/cheese tortellini instead of using fresh ones since they didn't have the smaller size and it was great! This is definitely a recipe I will keep on hand for those cold days.

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2009
This makes an awesome peanut butter/chocolate chip cookie! I added a little French Vanilla Instant Pudding mix and some walnuts since we love nuts. I switched the amounts of brown and white sugar as recommended by another user. I will definitely be making these again!
