Pumpkin Waffles with Apple Cider Syrup

These were great! Made a few changes..added 2 TB sugar and 1/4 tsp fresh ground nutmeg to batter. Then to syrup added 1 TB Myers dark rum and 1/4 tsp fresh ground nutmeg. Also used boiled cider (1 TB per 3/4 cup as per KAF site). Concentrated flavor was excellent! Had to double syrup. One recipe was not enough for 10 large Belgium waffles the batter made in my All Clad waffle maker.

Extra Easy Hummus

I made this with the following changes: Only 1/2 tsp of cumin, and I added about a cup of sun dried tomatoes I lightly sauteed in the herbed oil it came in (BJ's brand, Berkley and jensen imported from Italy..which are THE BEST I have ever had! I couldn't believe it was their brand..LOL) then put the tomatoes and the oil in the food processor and added the difference w/olive oil. This was sooo good! I tried some w/tahini and just don't like the flavor of it...so this one was great! :) I also added juice of 1/2 a lemon...and a bit of water only because I forgot to save the juice from the chick peas which I would definitely add next time to make it a bit softer.

German Chocolate Cake Frosting II

Excellent :) Doubled and added more coconut, and 1 TB vanilla like someone suggested. Used Real butter.. there are no substitutions! Did add a little cornstarch to thicken.. takes a long time to cook and get a little light brown like it is supposed to be rather than yellow. Would definitely make again.

Pastry Cream

Quick, easy, great consistency. Used a bit of almond flavor along w/the vanilla. Came out smooth..just keep stirring and quickly. Doesn't take long to thicken up! If you do end up getting lumps...just push through a seive.
