Cheddar Beer Triangles

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2010
Yummy! Hubby loved them, too. I don't use store bought baking mixes, but my own personal biscuit recipe using the beer instead of milk worked great! Time to try out on family and friend :)

Cheesy Ranch Potato Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2010
I made this extremely easy recipe exactly as posted with my home made my own skim milk/ff mayo ranch dressing) . I made 1/2 recipe and the longest step was cubing the potatoes so small, but the results were well with this minor effort. I tried this the first time on company and received high praise from even the most reserved guests, including my husband! Needless to say a keeper and can't wait until my kids come for a visit to make it again.

Roasted Garlic Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
This was very good. I was looking for something a little different for a Thanksgiving appetizer. I did put a little finely chopped red radish in it and my 3-1/2 year old grandson loved it, as did the adults.

Blueberry Crumb Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
The crumb topping is just right. I've been looking for months for just the right thickness and crunch and this was it. Hubby and guests agree, as they've been the subjects of my trials! :)

Whole Wheat Banana Nut Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
A very good, moist basic banana nut bread that I will now use instead of my old recipe.

Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
These did not appeal to me at all. I didn't like the texture after they baked and just didn't taste good to me.

Cheeseburger Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
This was ok. I think because the meat loaf part of it is thinner after rolling the cheese in it that it comes out too dry. I'll stick with my traditional meat loaf and top with cheese. Hubby wasn't thrilled, either and he's a cheeseburger nut.

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
I don't usually do stuffing in the slow cooker as it becomes rubbery and dry. This is the exception! I did stir it once in awhile, though and watched carefully to turn off before it started getting too dry.

Cranberry Sauce Extraordinaire

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
This is the best I've had. I've been cooking over 40 years years and replaced canned strawberry sauce as a teenager. I've tried many recipes and just tossed my 'keepers' for this one!

Sweet Potato Bread I

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
I made it exactly as written the first time and it was fantastic, but 5 stars-worth when I added 1/4 tsp lemon oil and a cup of chocolate chips. This sent my guests into ecstasy and has my hubbie asking me to make it again. Lemon oil is not the same as lemon extract, so if you use lemon extract, use 1 Tbsp and reduce the liquid by the same amount.

Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
This is the first appetizer I've served over my long cooking career that had friends calling me on holidays to tell them the recipe over the phone. Simply wonderful! I used some beef and some turkey smokies - it sure didn't make a difference to anyone.

All I can say is, "Yes, it is"! Served for Christmas and it's a good thing I made double, because my guests just kept going back for more!

Hot Onion Dip

This was excellent even at room temperature. My brother couldn't stop eating it. I served with chunks of italian bread and raw veggies. I had a variety of guests and all enjoyed.

Peanut Butter Vegetable Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
This replaces my 30 year old favorite! I made a few modifications to please our individual taste - replaced the potatoes with al dante elbow mac and added it after the carrots cooked. I increased the chicken to 4 cups, left out the zucchini and broccoli and thickened the soup with corn starch (we like a thick texture). Served with home made baking powder biscuits for dinner on a chilly evening. Yum!

Lemon Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2009
This was a real hit with everyone. I just love it and will add it to my holiday sweet tray. I added 1/8 tsp lemon essential oil (not extract) along with the lemon juice and didn't have to mess with the adjusting the proportions to make it more lemony. The second time I made it, I sprinkled chocolate chips over the top before baking. They baked down into the bread/cake and I got even more praise than the first round!! I also ate a lot more of it :)
