Quinoa and Black Beans

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2012
I've been needing more fiber in my diet and this is the perfect, tasty dish for that. Two superfoods in one meal! I'm sure we will try tweaking the spices over time, and maybe even try some kind of sauce or curry on it.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2010
Very tasty! This cake will definitely take longer than indicated in some ovens, but when it's done (and topped with a satiny glaze) it's delicious.

Satiny Chocolate Glaze

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2010
This was the perfect topping for my bundt cake. And I have zero artistic ability so it was nice to have something to just drizzle and let it fall.

Slow Cooked Corned Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2010
I found some corned beef in the freezer and thought this would be a good way to revive it. Unfortunately I think I may have discovered I'm just not a corned beef fan (or maybe it had been in the freezer too long?), but I did still enjoy the flavor. It was a pretty strong smell coming from the pot but it balanced out well in the actual meat. Maybe I'll try it again someday with some fresher meat!

Foolproof Rib Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2010
This really is a foolproof way to cook a choice cut of meat. When you're spending this much on meat you really want to enjoy it's flavor and this recipe is perfect for that. Tender, juicy and flavorful!

Curried Coconut Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2010
This turned out great! Although I would change the sugar requirement to "to taste" as 3 tablespoons was too sweet for us. Also I think it could've handled a whole onion instead of a half...less waste that way. Will definitely make again!

Roasted Garlic Cauliflower

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2009
Great and versatile recipe. Made it a number of times with or without extra spices...tastes great with just olive oil and minced garlic! I use a tupperware container to do the shaking/coating step and then can use it to store the leftovers.

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2009
I'm really not a carrot cake fan, but my boyfriend is so I made this for his birthday. And wow! It's made me into a carrot cake convert. And it definitely pleased his pallette as well. I added a touch extra cinnamon and think it could've used even a little more, but it was great as-is!

Hearty Vegetable Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2009
Yum! I looked at some of the suggestions and didn't really follow any of them. I like noodles, so I didn't think one package was too much. Although next time I think I will add more veggies...it's great the recipe is so versatile; you can throw in whatever veggies you have on hand!

Mexican Mole Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2009
Great recipe for novice mole-makers. Definitely don't use tomato soup! It tastes like...well, tomato soup. I used tomato sauce the second time and it turned out great! I also followed the suggestions and used fresh garlic and added corriander and cinnamon. I think I might try adding chili powder next time.

Ultimate Green Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2009
Yum! This is a tasty and very flexible recipe. I used extra garlic, as I always do, and no onions and it turned out great.

Soft Chocolate Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2009
I didn't have the sugar to put on top, so maybe that really would've given these that extra something, but the cookies themselves are a little plain for my taste. Still tasty, though. And the dough is very easy to handle.

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2009
My family and I liked this dish so much I made it twice in one weekend. It's very easy to keep the sauce smooth and creamy by adding the milk slowly (as should be done for all creamy sauces), and if it gets to thin I just add a touch more flour.

Chocolate Truffle Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2009
So tasty! A non-carb-eating friend broke their rule to try one and did not regret it for a second. A moderate chocolate fan, however, said they were too chocolatey. I'm a chocolate lover, so I thought they were perfect!

Merry Meringues

Reviewed: May 11, 2009
Very light and fluffy. I think I might try leaving the oven closed as they weren't crispy enough for me, though.

Really tasty! Cooking the bacon for a pot luck-sized portion does take awhile, but the results are probably worth it.

Extra Easy Fudge

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
Wow! This is one of the easiest things I've ever made! Of course it isn't going to taste like Grandma Betty's 1906 State Fair Fudge, but the point is that it has two ingredients (without the nuts) and tastes like fudge! Wonderful.

Mom's Chocolate Chip Meringues

Reviewed: May 4, 2009
This was the first meringue recipe I ever tried, and once my dad reminded me after my first attempt that you are supposed to use room-temperature eggs it turned out great! But as someone mentioned, I think it is a little too sweet. I think either removing some of the sugar or the chocolate chips would make it better.
