Amish Friendship Bread Starter

The chain letter of baked-goods. The end result is yummy, but it's a pain to get it there. Living in a small town, you run out of people to give it to. Is there a quicker way of getting the bread without having to annoy any more families?

Spiced Banana Bread

OMG absolutely delicious! I followed the recipe directions, but used all brown sugar since I was out of white AND I added a tiny bit of oil (so small, that I didn't even measure it, probably about a tablespoon). The mixture had just seemed too thick, but the two loaves came out perfect. They ended up baking more like 60 minutes. After the first 45 minutes, I lowered the oven temp since I was worried that the edges were getting too brown. The first loaf was completely gone in no time. Will definitely use this recipe again. Loved that it was not so "plain" as traditional banana bread recipes. Thanks.

Sunny's Creamy Chicken Pork Chops

This was just ok. Made it as per the recipe but when I tried the sauce, it was just to bland and runny. Put it back onto the stove, added spices and cooked a bit more. I did use chicken and it left the breast very tender and moist, so that's a plus. Since the sauce was to thin for me, I mixed it into brown rice. It was good this way. Adding some hot sauce made it better. Thanks. Will use the recipe again, but with some changes.

Lemon Bars I

I didn't like these at all. No lemon flavor even after adding extra lemon juice. There also wasn't enough filling for thiis. I doubled the recipe for a bigger pan, and didn't have enough filling to spread over the entire crust. 20 minutes is also too long for the crust and mine ended up overcooked. I'm embarrassed to take these to work.

Pumpkin Brownies

Shame but I did not like these. The chocolate was to thick and not spreadable at all. The pumpkin mixture was runny and didn't set well even after baking the full time. It turned out to be clumps of hard chocolate mixture in too soft pumpkin. Also, the pumpkin had too much of something, either cloves or nutmeg...it was all I could taste really. Will not ,make again.

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookies IV

First batch spread WAY to much. After refrigerating they were ok, but not the best I've tasted. Another recipe I've tried has butter and shortening,, I prefer that one.

Almond Butter Cookies

I've had this recipe in my box for ages, so I finally decided to make them. These were pretty good, a little too sweet for me but they were enjoyed. I used a 7.1 oz package of almond paste and grated it into the mixture. I also used 1/4 cup of shortening and the rest butter. Great almond flavor. About 9 minutes for me.

Eggnog Cake

I was so disappointed with this recipe. Followed the recipe to a T. The cake was just ok. Tasted like regular boxed mix to me. The filling was not spreadable at all and the icing was beyond sweet. Add super sweet icing on top of a bland cake with thick looking filling and you get something that just isn't eatable. Maybe a kid with a sweet tooth will like this, but it won't be on my table again. Sorry.
