Kathy's Meat Hot Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2012
"THE BOMB" Thankyou thankyou. This recipe is marvelous as written. I held back on the black pepper and red pepper some. I think it would of been better if I would of just added them. This stuff is pretty hot. Whoever doesnt like hot stuff isn't going to like this anyway, so go for it. This reminds me of Betty's world Famous Hotdogs sauce.

Hamburger Pie

I like this because it was so simple. I added 3 garlic cloves and used instant mashed potatoes. Next time I think I will replace the green beens with peas and carrots.

Scalloped Celery

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2012
I was looking for something to do with my celery. The recipe went together well. I didn't have the green pepper or pimientos. I added onions. I think if you can substiitute any vegetable for the celery. This makes a great base for a casserole dish.

I couldn't believe how great this diet friendly soup taste. I added a little parmesan cheese to my bowl. I think it definetly adds to the flavor.

Easy Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2009
I have been using this recipe for 20+ years. You can also switch out the fruit. I often make it when I want to use up some fruit I have. I just add sugar to the fruit place in a bowl cover with wrap and nuke it until the juices come out. I've used apples, blackberries, strawberries and figs. I usually cook it for 45 minutes to 1 hour. This is not a fancy cobbler but a quick and easy. I always have these ingredients on hand and the recipe can be prepared in 5 minutes.

Caramel Pie II

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2009
I have been making this for 20 years. I always put the cans of milk in boiling water. I place the cans on there side. Then turn it down to simmer. I simmer for 4 to 5 hours. I may roll the cans a couple of times. Just make sure the water continues to cover the cans. Also let the cans cool before opening. (common sense). I put pecans and whip cream on top. You need to cut the slices then because it is so rich. Everyone will think you spent hours over a pot stirring. lol

Fresh Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
I have been making this for a few years Like others I only use 1/4 of the onion. I like mine best with pecans. You can also use walnuts or peanuts. I also cheet a little and buy the precooked bacon and crisp it up in the microwave or you can use the bacon bits for salads (don't use the imitation bacon bits though). I wate until right before I serve it and put the bacon bits on top so they won't get soggy.

Banana Pudding IV

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
I have made this several times. If I'm not making it for a lot of people I make the pudding in the 1st step and save halve of it until later. You can also make the pudding itself Then fix up dessert dishes with a layer of wafers and bananas put the pudding mixture in and then just add whip topping to the top. I do not ever use banana pudding with this.

Real Texas Chili

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
This is the bomb. I cooked my roast in a pressure cooker with all the spices for about 1 1/2 hours. The roast just fell apart so no need to cut it up. Then I mixed the flour with a little water and then strained that into the chili to thicken it up. I didn't use the oregeno (didn't have any) and the olive oil. Next time I'm going to try to just make it with ground beef so we can have it over hot dogs. I can't stop eating the stuff.
