I was surprised by how good this was. I confess to a few changes, since we like our foods well seasoned . . . In addition to the chili powder, I used garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, paprika, and oregano. I added these same spices to a jar of tomato sauce in lieu of the taco sauce. And I added at least one cup of salsa, as well (put some on top and some on bottom). I almost omitted the chips but am glad I didn't . . . The flavor and crunch added a lot to the dish. We ate this with avocados, green onions, and sliced olives.
