White Almond Wedding Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2013
I made a 4 tier wedding cake with this recipe using Duncan Hines 16.5 oz white cake mix (4 boxes). I froze the layers 3 days prior; heavily wrapped in plastic wrap, then foil. They were stacked, dowelled, and frosted right out of the freezer a few hours before the wedding (and decorated with my pre-made frozen buttercream flowers). I transported the ready cake one hour to it's destination; where it was cut shortly after. Guests from across the floor were giving me two 'thumbs up', they were going up for seconds and some thirds. Many asked for the recipe and told me it was "the best cake" they had "ever tasted". This is the first wedding cake I've made and will never use another recipe. It's a major ego-booster :)

Roasted Garlic Cauliflower

1 tablespoon of parsley did not seem like enough; I added a small handful which was the perfect amount. We ate the leftovers the next night in spaghetti sauce over pasta, yumm.

Perfect for company!! I plan on doubling or tripling this recipe next time, as it does not last long with 4 people.

Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2010
NO OATS!! Finally an apple crisp recipe without the annoying texture of oats; just a real crumb topping. I found that you can add an apple or two more while still cooking them all evenly; for a "fuller" crisp! Yum

Very good! Do not substitute the almond extract with vanilla though; every time i did, the cookies came out flat!

Alfredo Sauce

Very tasty! I added almost double parmesan and Romano cheeses. Also, the parmesan and romano cheeses need to be sifted before placed in the mix; it makes a big difference!

Apple Crisp II

Tasty crisp, but I was hoping for more of a "crisp" texture for the topping. Overall, nice taste, everyone seemed to like it.

Blueberry Lemon Loaf

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2009
I would only recommend that if this bread is not going to be eaten within a day or so, not putting the lemon glaze on top; it seemed to make the bread top a bit soggy. Over all though, an absolutely fabulous bread, wonderful flavor and I enjoy sharing it with everyone!

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Typically, banana bread is made with very ripe bananas, and mashed. The rating for this bread is no exaggeration! Its so moist and flavorful; something you would expect for desert at a high class restaurant.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Good cookies, though they dry around the edges the next day, even though they were sealed in a container. We threw a piece of bread in with them, and they were fine in an hour.

Magic Mango Bread

Honestly the best bread I have ever eaten! On my 4th loaf, I doubled the raisens, nuts and added a little extra coconut! The coconut was sweetened so I used a little less sugar. Fabulous! Now I always have a loaf on reserve in the freezer (just incase of emergencies!)

Veggie Vegetarian Chili

The best chili I have ever made! Even the meat-eaters loved it! I cut the carrots and put two (instead of one) Tablespoons of cumin. Also, I drained the chili when it was done cooking/blending; there was a lot of excess juice/water. I Put the leftover chili (a lot) in my boyfriends lunches for the week.
