Apple Harvest Pound Cake with Caramel Glaze

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2009
I just made this for my granpa's 66th birthday and he LOVED it!! I have never made a bundt from scratch so I was a little worried, but I followed the recipe to a T except I did take the advice of other's with cooking temp and time at 325 70min. It was super moist and delish, a gorgeous non traditional birthday cake thanks for sharing!

LOVED this recipe! Used campanelle (sp?) mini lasagna noodles, and boboli pizza sauce. Also subbed ground turkey, seasoned with oregano basil and crushed red pepper, added mushrooms. Was FANTASTIC!

Gyoza

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2009
REALLY enjoyed this recipe but there is one thing I think was left out that is a crucial step in making it easier to roll the wontons. Once all your filling has been cooked together, throw it in a food processor and pulse a few times so the texture is a little mushier. Trust me it is SO much easier to handle and mold into place once inside the wrapper. I didn't figure this out until about half way through chasing pieces of pork all over the counter. All in all a very yummy recipe and the dipping sauce is so simple yet SO fantastic!

Vegetarian Korma

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2011
I used coconut milk in place of the cream as other users suggested and this was awesome! Next time I will add a lot more curry powder as it wasn't very hot to me. I put the potatos and carrots in with the onion to get a head start on cooking, and also sliced them pretty thin to help cut back on cooking time. Delicious vegetarian recipe!

Cindy's Awesome Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
This chowder definitely lives up to it's name! It is not too milky, or too clammy, it's just right! Very hearty and easy soup to make. I used chicken broth in place of water to cover my potatoes, may try using extra clam juice next time. I also added in an onion with the potato and carrot, just because I had one and I felt like it should be in there . I did only use one package of the leek soup mix merely because I am a dork and only grabbed one at the store. I think one did the soup just fine though : ) Served it up in some sourdough breadbowls (wish I could have made those too!) and it was to die for! My man couldn't stop saying how good it was, best we've ever had. Thanks for the awesome recipe Cindy!

Fierro Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
This was awesome! I didn't have enchilada sauce on hand, so I combined taco sauce with some leftover tomato sauce and a splash or 2 of tapatio to sub. I browned my chickn breast withh S&P to seal in the juices before topping with the sauce mixture, I also cooked the mushrooms in a little wine to draw out some of the liquid before topping the chicken with them, and of course the cheese! Once this came out of the oven I garnished with some cilantro. Excellent sauce, great new recipe for chicken, goes great with mexican rice. Thanks for the recipe!

Super-Delicious Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2009
LOVED this recipe! Taste just like the stuff you get at Olive Garden but better cause it's homemade! I didn't have bacon on hand, but I do think it would have added a nice extra depth of flavor, so don't skimp if you don't have to! I also used spicey italian sausage out of personal preference, as well as kale instead of spinach and it was amazing!

Steakhouse Black Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
This bread is absolutely AMAZING! Didn't change a thing with the recipe. I did divide into just 4 small loaves, and baked for 25 minutes. They were absolutely fabulous! Tasted very similar to "Black Angus" restaurant bread. It was very moist, great flavor, fresh and SO GOOD! A keeper for sure !

Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
I read a lot of mixed reviews for this recipe, but decided to take the plunge and try it for myself, and I am glad that I did! These were soooo yummy! I doubled the sauce to have gravy for our mashed potatos, and added mushrooms to the pan while the patties were simmering. They turned out so juicy and moist, the sauce was delicious! Maybe a little bit on the salty side, but hey, it's condensed soup. We had some unexpected dinner guests over and everyone raved about this dish! Thanks for the awesome recipe!

Shredded Beef Chimichangas

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
I feel bad even reviewing this because I pretty much changed everything. BUT the idea of a non fried shredded beef chimi was great! I pressure cooked my meat with jalapenos, poblanos, onion, garlic, beef broth, a little canola oil and red wine. I also added very small diced potatos after the meat was cooked. Instead of baking these, I just pan fried them in a little butter like you would a quesidilla. Thanks for the inspiration, great recipe, will make again and again.

Sesame Pasta Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2009
I LOVE this recipe! We are huge cilantro fans, and the combination of the cilantro and sesame is surprisingly delicious! I did not use as much oil as called for, and cut back on the sesame seeds, added crushed red pepper. I prefer it cold, and think it needs time in the fridge to "marinate". Good stuff!!

Pesto Mushroom Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2009
I modified this recipe a bit and it was deLICIOUS! So I made my homemade pesto and pounded the breasts out as in the recipe, but instead of cooking seperatly, I rolled it up, seared it and finished off in the oven, topped with extra cheese. Sauteed the mushrooms with evoo butter garlic s+p, and a little sherry. Topped the stuffed breast, it was amazing! Yum!
