Red Lentil Curry

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2010
hi, one can easily leave out the curry paste & powder & the tomatoes. I boiled the lentil along with the minced garlic, turmeric, chilli powder, salt & onions, its very flavourful that way. Finally smoked some butter & to it added cumin seeds, one chilli -sliced lengthwish and a bit of sliced ginger. Adding chopped tomatoes or any other cooked veggies-chopped carrots, cauliflower, french beans, peas, cabbage, bottle or snake gourd is an option.

Cumin and Coriander Chickpea Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2009
its very similar to a Indian recipe, you can heat some oil, let the Cumins and some black mustard seeds splutter along with some finely chopped onions till it browns, just add the peas, add salt and a pinch of red chilli powder. Garnish with cilantro, chopped tomatoes, green chilles and may be some grated coconut.

I used homemade fresh low fat cream cheese instead of the dressing, with a dash of mustard, and basil.

Caribbean Holiday Shrimp

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2009
This was really good, though i halved the quantity of ginger/pepper and oil and used basil leaves to garnish, next time i will try and use mint leaves for the garnish.
