Apple Enchilada Dessert

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2001
These are sooo good. I double the sauce and use a little more cinnamon to make these even more delicious. Everyone in the family, inclucing the kids loved these. They disappear quickly, so make a double batch for a large family. Apple is our favorite. Thanks for this quick and easy recipe.

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2001
This was the best turkey I have ever made or eaten. I could not believe how moist and tender the breast was! My thanksgiving was made perfect with this delicious bird. Everyone asked how I did it, even my elderly aunt, who is the best cook ever, raved about it. I used about a stick and a half of butter under the skin. I buttered that bird good. I also rubbed the outside of the bird with butter before pouring the boullion mixture and before the seasoned salt. It was such a beautiful golden brown. I was so busy that day that I only got it basted a couple of times during cooking, but it couldn't have been any better or jucier. This was a 21 pound bird, and I cooked it for 1 hour at 375 degrees then reduced to 350 degrees for 5 more hours to reach 180 degrees. Perfect!!! Thanks a million Robin!!

Mom's Applesauce Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2001
These pancakes were o.k., but not that great. The flavor just wasn't what I expected from the ingrediants. A one timer...sorry!

Apple, Cranberry, and Pear Crisp

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2001
This was really good, quick, and easy, and I used the pears from my tree. I used delicious apples, because that was all I had at the time. I must admit, however, that I did add cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg to the fruit. I also used pecans instead of walnuts. The only bad part was that I did not have any vanilla ice cream to go over this warm delicious crisp, but is disappeared anyway. Thanks for the recipe.

Brown Sugar-Pear Tart

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2001
I am always glad to get recipes using fresh pears, as I have an abundant of them this time of year. This was very good, especially the crust. I dotted the top of mine with butter because I thought that topping needed some help. It appeared very dry. Maybe next time I will cut some butter in with the topping mix. I also had to cook it about 40 minutes, and the pears were still a little bit crisp, but it was delicious. I will use this recipe again and again. Thanks for sharing it.

Key Lime Pie VIII

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2001
This pie was soooo good! I used a graham cracker crust, and it did not get soggy, of course the pie only lasted two days. I used just regular ole limes from the store. Our store don't carry Key Limes, and do we really want to put anything in our mouth's that come out of South Florida, anyway?? I did not want a recipe that had raw eggs, and this one was perfect! Thanks Charlotte for sharing this one with us.

Best Ever Blueberry Cobbler

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2001
I like a juicy, bubbly cobbler. This one was very dry and flat. I was a little suspicious when I read the ingrediants, but thought I would try it anyway. BIG MISTAKE !

Sunday Best Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2001
This was o.k., but it would not be my Sunday best, or any other day best fruit salad. It seemed like it was missing something, like some marshmellows, whipped cream, and nuts. I would make a lot of changes in this one. Sorry...

I loved these for breakfast. They are best served warm. I heated my left overs in the microwave for about 30 seconds, and they tasted great! So quick and easy too. Thanks for sharing these with us.

Snickerdoodle Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2001
I was very disappointed in the flavor of this cake.VERY BLAND. It needed something, but I'm not sure just what! It didn't taste anything like the cookies. Maybe some vanilla?, or whatever, just something. A one timer...

Bacon Cheeseburger Upside Down Pizza

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2001
This was a little bit time consuming, but turned out very good. I used mozzarella cheese and sprinkled with parmesan the make it a little more like pizza. I also added some jalapenos on top of the cheese before adding the flour mixture. It tasted great! I'm sure I will make this again. Thanks for the recipe Krissy.

Peach Cobbler II

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2001
This cobbler was really good. I doubled the recipe because I had a lot of peaches to use. It turned out great, and it made a really big cobbler, but it won't last long around here. I will use this again...thanks Janette.

Amazing Coconut Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2001
This recipe made me ask,"where's the crust?" Mine had no crust!! It was just like a custard pie with no crust!! It tasted really good though, and it came out of the pan fine....did I misunderstand about the crust??

Lemon Cooler Cream Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2001
The cake part of this recipe was really good, but I did not care for the icing. The pudding mix did not go well here. I think it would have been a whole lot better to just omit the pudding mix. I give the icing two thumbs down.

Lemon Lush Pie

Reviewed: May 19, 2001
I reallly liked this pie. I used an oreo cookie pie crust which I really liked with this. I tasted the filling before adding the sour cream, and I like it better without the sour cream. Next time I will omit the sour cream, and maybe double the filling recipe.

Pineapple Cake II

Reviewed: May 5, 2001
This was very good, quick, and easy. I liked the fact there was no oil in the cake itself, however, the icing made up for it with the butter. I also added 1 cup chopped pecans.

Banana Frittata

Reviewed: May 4, 2001
FRITTATA DISASTER ALERT! Try at your own risk! This was terrible. It looked like where someone had thrown up, and I suspect tasted about the same. It was impossible to turn over in one piece. Not even powdered sugar could help this mess. The proper rating would be -*****. Mine went down the disposall. Sorry!!

Texas Brazil Nut Fruitcake

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2001
I loved this cake! All those nuts is what made this sooo good, but it did take a long time to chop them all up by hand, and a long time to bake. I added some spices to mine. My grand kids didn't think much of it, but what do they know??It is a great holiday cake, and keeps forever in the ice box.
