Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Angie's Dad's Best Cabbage Coleslaw

I've been making this coleslaw every summer for the past few years. My family really loves it. We're not usually fans of mayo-based coleslaws so, this one was perfect. The sweet tangy taste is a great compliment to grilled meats/bbq or even in sandwiches. I've used splenda in place of the sugar before due to some diabetics in the family. It's just as good that way as well. I've also used half red cabbage before for added color but, after it sits for awhile, it turns the whole salad pink. Lol. I also followed other reviewers tips about halving the sauce ingredients. I think it's the perfect amount this way. Delicious. Thanks!

Fluffy Pancakes

I have already made this a few times in the past week! Very good fluffy pancakes! This is my first go at making them from scratch and I'm so glad I tried this! I followed everything to a T and it came out perfect. Who knew it was so easy?! I usually just add some fresh fruit on top but, I've also turned them into cinnamon sugar pancakes and blueberry pancakes. Those came out good as well so, this makes a great base pancake recipe. The kids love it too! Thank you! :)

Panna Cotta

Thank you for a good and easy to follow recipe! The first time I made this, I followed the recipe exactly except I used regular milk instead of skim. Then I just topped it with fresh strawberries. We loved it! The panna cotta itself tastes delicious and is not overly sweet. You don't even need to top it with anything if you want something simpler. The second time around, I used Thai coconut milk and topped some with a lychee sauce and lychees and some with a mango sauce and fresh mangoes and some fresh Mint. Yuuuum!!! I don't think the coconut milk actually did much to change the flavor though, it just altered the creaminess a bit. Next time I'll try coconut extract instead. I've also tried it with almond extract and I loved that flavor as well. The flavor combinations and toppings you can do with this are endless! I will be making this again and again! Thank you!! :)

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Who knew making your own teriyaki sauce would be so easy?! We did chicken thighs and it came out very tasty. Everyone, including the kids, really liked this. Thanks for the good recipe! :)

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Oooh my yummm!!! My family loved this. We topped each piece with vanilla bean ice cream and it was gobbled up so fast. We wished we had more! This was the first peach cobbler I've ever made and it was easy to follow. The only thing I would change next time is to make two batches because it was gone so quick. Lol. Also, I agree with some of the other reviewers on doubling the topping. Delicious! This will be my go to recipe every summer my Aunt brings me a box full of peaches from her garden. Thanks! :)

Taqueria Style Tacos - Carne Asada

I only made the marinade in this recipe. The carne asada came out very tasty! My family really liked this. It's kind of a lot of ingredients and a little time consuming putting it all together but, it was well worth it. The flavor was great. Thank you! :)

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Who knew making homemade pie crusts was so easy?!! I've always been intimidated to try it and decided to give it a go this past Thanksgiving. It was so easy and quick to make!! What makes it even better is that I already usually have these ingredients on hand! It was a little tricky rolling it out but, just sprinkle enough flour on your surface and you'll get it. I also rolled mine out between two pieces of wax paper as someone else suggested. I will be making my own pie crusts from now on. Thank you!!

Thai Cucumber Salad

I have made this so many times this past summer. It's delicious and a great side to grilled meat/bbq. Perfect summertime salad but, I think I'll be eating this year round! I never made it with jalapenos though because of some family members who don't do well with heat. Since I love anything spicy, I can only imagine it would make this salad so much better. I've also had to swap out sugar for splenda before due to some diabetics and I think it tasted just as good. My family and guests always love it and some of them even asked for the recipe. Thank you!

Thai Steamed Mussels

I made this a few times. My family, friends, and I thought this was delicious! I also used frozen mussels because I couldn't find any fresh. It worked just fine. I also used more red curry paste. I served it with steamed white rice and it was perfect. If you want even more heat, add some Thai chilis! Thanks for a great recipe!

Strawberry Cake Filling

Bill's Sausage Gravy

I made this a few times now. I didn't try it with maple flavored sausage though. I've used regular breakfast sausage and hot Italian sausage. We poured it on top of biscuits. Yummy! My family enjoyed it, especially my bf who is a biscuits and gravy lover. Thanks for a great recipe! :)

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

I thought this recipe was very good. I tried it both with turkey sausage and spicy Italian sausage. Both were very tasty. I love the tartness of the cranberries and apple paired with the savory flavors. I used a golden delicious apple but, might prefer a more tart apple next time. Also, I used fresh herbs..mmmm! Love the smell and taste of this..definitely go with fresh if you can. Although, I'm sure it would be just fine with dried. I did not stuff the turkey and just baked in the oven in a casserole dish at 350 degrees for about 35 min or so. Thanks for this delicious recipe. I will be making this again!

Smokin' Scovilles Turkey Chili

Very good turkey chili! I added 2 jalapenos instead of a habanero, omitted the kidney beans and added a whole can of corn. Also added some celery because my bf likes it that way. Really tasty! It was spicy but, not too spicy. You wouldn't miss the beef. I would definitely make this again.

Creamiest Rice Pudding

Deeelicious! This is the best rice pudding recipe I've tried. It actually taste better than the one we buy at a local restaurant. I followed the recipe EXACTLY and it came out perfect! We also thought it was just the right amount of sweetness for us, no need to add an extra 1/2 c. of sugar or so but, of course it's all a matter of preference. I used 2% milk, added cinnamon and raisins on top when it was done, refrigerated overnight and it was SOOO good! We finished the whole batch within the same day and my bf is already requesting for me to make it again! Thanks for the great recipe! :)

Banana Cream Pie I

Yum! This pie is really good! The first time I made this pie, I followed the directions to a T. It came out good and sliced beautifully but, I felt that there wasn't enough pudding compared to all the bananas. Also, the bananas turned brown fairly quickly. The second time, I used only three bananas and mixed it into the pudding before putting in the pie shell and I did NOT bake it. I just refrigerated it overnight. This time around my bf and I enjoyed the taste/balance of the pudding and bananas much better. Mixing it together also prevented the bananas from turning brown. The only problem was that this pie did not set as good as the first one I had baked. By the way, I did not have any problems with my pudding being too runny. I agree with the other reviewers, you probably did not cook it long enough. I also used whole milk for best results. Next time I'll continue to mix the pudding and bananas before filling the pie and bake it..or if I don't bake it, I'll use the cornstarch suggestion instead. Either way, this is a great recipe to start from and just tweak however you like. I added a dulce de leche drizzle on top along with some toasted coconut. Yummy combination! My family loved it! Thank you!

Ginataang Manok (Chicken Cooked in Coconut Milk)

I'm a young Filipino and have been trying to learn how to cook more Filipino food. I was happy to see that there were some recipes on this site. This was really easy to follow. My family and I thought it was pretty good. Although, I personally prefer stronger bolder flavors and I liked this much more the second day after I tweaked it with additional seasonings that were more to my liking. I would also use fresh spinach next time instead of frozen. All in all, a good recipe to start from. Thanks!

Bacon Ranch Pasta Salad

Made this for a potluck. I thought it was pretty tasty, especially with the bacon! I added a tad bit more than called for b/c I had extra from another recipe. Mmmm..bacon makes everything better. lol. Everyone that ate it enjoyed it. There were even other pasta salads there and was told that this one was the best on the table. Thanks for a good recipe. :)
