Spring Lime Tea Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2010
These cookies were phenomenal! Like many others, I also made the powdered sugar glaze to try on some of the cookies. On the others, I used the glaze from the recipe. Both were good. It's all in preference. My husband ate five of these as soon as I glazed them! This will be a spring/summer tradition for my kids from now on!

Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
I didn't really follow the recipe given. I took everyone else's suggestions. My husband said that the meal was restaurant quality, and he knows his southern foods! My changes were as follows: 2 cans chicken broth, 1 can cream of chicken soup, 1 can cream of celery soup, 1 can cream of mushroom soup, package of 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, 1/8 of an onion, minced, 1 Tblsp. butter, 1.5 cans Pillsbury buttermilk biscuits. Combine soups in a crock pot and turn on high heat. Melt the butter in a frying pan and sautee the onions. Add chicken to onions and butter. Cook all the way through. Cut chicken in small pieces and add to crock pot. Start pinching off and flouring thumb-sized pieces of biscuits. The flour keeps them from sticking together and also thickens the broth. Add big can of biscuits first. Wait 20 minutes, then flour and add the can of five biscuits, making sure the dough is small. As the dumplings cook, they will plump. Too big of pieces leads to a doughy, uncooked center. Let cook on high for about an hour to an hour and a half. Turn on low for another 15 minutes, then serve! I did not add peas and carrots to mine. That is optional.

Pecan Pie IV

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
I made Pecan Pie for the first time for a friend of mine who special requested it. After sorting through the recipes on this site, I discovered this one. I will look no further! The pie was incredible! I followed the recipe, but mixed half dark corn syrup with half light corn syrup. I also topped the pie with Emerald's Pecan Pie glazed Pecans. Yummy! It really is an easy pie to make. My husband was requesting another one as soon as he finished off the first. Perfect and delicious pie!

Parmesan Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2009
This was a hit at my dad's 50th birthday party! He loves Chicken Parmesan and wanted me to cook it for him. This recipe is a keeper! I also baked my chicken in the oven. It came out crispy and just perfect. I added the butter to the breading like someone else suggested to give it a crunchier crust. I also put fresh garlic slices on top of my chicken to give it a little extra kick. This is a recipe that can be experimented with. So good!

Honey Cornbread

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2009
This was delicious! I didn't do a thing to change the recipe. It was my first time making homemade cornbread. It turned out moist, sweet, and perfect! This is a recipe I will make time and time again. Thank you, Tim!

Four Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2009
I made this as a surprise for my husband last night. He loved it! This was a delicious recipe for traditional-tasting mac and cheese. I made a couple of changes, though. I didn't use an egg, but I added an extra half-cup of half-and-half. I also sprinkled plain bread crumbs on top of the dish before I stuck it in the oven. Changes aren't necessary; I just made it the way I thought my husband would like it best.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2009
I made this to donate to a local homeless shelter to help them raise money for food for their pantry. I did not get to try it, so I made it again for my husband today. It was FANTASTIC! I added a little cinnamon and nutmeg to mine like other reviews suggested. It turned out delicious! Thank you Grandma Ople for a recipe that makes my husband smile like an excited child all over again! :-)

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2009
I never thought I would make good fish, but this turned out superb! I love the taste and how easy this recipe is! I had to cook mine in a frying pan, which I coated lightly in olive oil. I loved how it turned out! This is my favorite recipe for salmon now! Restaurant quality and easy clean-up makes this a 10-star recipe!

Frozen Latte Dessert

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2009
I just finished testing this amazing dessert! I added sugar like the others suggested, and it turned out delicious! I am not a coffee drinker, but I loved the taste of this! It is like a frozen Starbucks mocha frappaccino. My husband is taking it to work tomorrow. I will definitely be making this easy, impressive, yummy dessert again!

Three Cheese Manicotti II

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2009
I made this for my husband, and he loved it! Personally, I thought it needed a bit more flavor, but if my husband approves, then it's a winner. I also did not boil the noodles. They got soft enough to be thoroughly cooked, but they were hard enough to stuff. I think next time I will do half of them with onions in them and the other half with sliced pepperonis to see what happens.

Key Lime Pie VII

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2009
I made this pie for a college group. It was basically inhaled! This was the perfect blend of creamy, tart, tangy, and sweet. It was fantastic! Also, the graham cracker crust was a perfect crust. Everyone was raving that they would pay me to make this pie for them again! One of the leaders said that it tasted just like her mom made it in the old days. Thank you for a great recipe! I will be using it again and again.

Old Fashioned Coconut Cream Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2009
Fantastic recipe! I made this and a Key Lime Pie off this site for a college group. They devoured this pie! It is perfect the way that it is, but next time I think I will try the coconut milk that others are writing about. This will definitely be a pie that I will make again!

Brownie Caramel Cheesecake

Reviewed: May 2, 2009
This is a delicious cheesecake with the recommended changes made. I followed other people's advice and used 3 8 oz packages of cream cheese, 3/4 cup of sugar, and followed the brownie box recipe. This is a great cake, but it is a little hard to cut. The caramel hardens and makes it hard to cut, but the taste makes up for that difficulty. I loved this! I am selling it at a fund raiser per slice. I can't wait to hear the feedback!

Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2009
Excellent recipe! It turned out delicious! Restaurant quality. Next time I think I will add mushrooms and pine nuts, but the dish certainly doesn't need them. I would advise making the dish as-is first, then add other ingredients next time you make it. Just carry peppermints with you after eating this! The garlic is a killer for breath.
