Grandpop's Special Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2013
This is an excellent cake, just like the one that my grandmother use to make. I did add 1 cup of buttermilk and very strong coffee. I baked it in a bundt pan which took about 50 minutes. This one is a keeper. Thank you

My Best Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2012
This is the best Clam chowder I have ever made, well its the first one, and OMG,, its the best. The only thing that I will change the next time is cut the flour down to 1/2 cup. I also used light cream rather than the 1/2 and 1/2.and rather than the water I used a cup of bottled claim juice. I also added 1 1/2 teaspoon of Beau Monde Seasoning, makes a huge impact on the flavor. This one is a keeper. Thank you so much. Joe

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2012
I have made this many times over the past 3 years. I however, mix in the bananas into the batter at the end and I always use 4 large bananas. I do not put in the nuts but I do put in a cup of chocolate chips, nice change. This is the best banana bread.

Buttermilk-Battered Calamari

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2011
I made this the other night at it was great. I soaked the calamari in the buttermilk for about 30 minutes, then I dipped/coated it with Italian bread crumbs, they turned out to be great for the first time. All of my guests said the same. I served with a Italian pasta sauce. this is a great app. and a keeper

Swedish Rye Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
This is one of the best breads I have ever made. Very easy. The only thing I changed was that I added 4 tablespoons of melted butter while mixing rather than the shorting. This is a keeper, thank you JP

Rhubarb Bread I

Reviewed: May 7, 2009
This is one of the best rhubard bread I have ever had. I made a few changes, I used a total of 3 cups packed dark brown sugar, used apple sauce for the oil, added 1 additional egg, and used buttermilk instead of the milk and lemon juice. I also put a slice of cream cheese when putting the batter into the pan. Was a very nice change

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2009
Made this yesterday. It was ok, a little on the dry side. I do not know who named it the best chocolate pound cake, as its very far from the best. I would not make this one again. JP
