About this Cook
I am not a patient cook so if it takes all day or has a long prep time I ill usually skip it. I love flavor and think that spices can add a lot with little calories. I started using allrecipes.com to find a new way to cook pork chops since my mom always cooked them in cream sauce and I never liked that. Since them I just type in the main dish I have and see what comes up. My boyfriend is a big fan of my cooking now and looks forward to me trying out new dishes.
My favorite things to cook
I have recently gotten hooked on different salads, but I like to try anything new and healthy. I also modify almost every recipe since I never seemto have the correct ingridients on hand. Usually turns out well though.
My cooking triumphs
I modified a stuffed pork chop recipe and made then with granny smith apples, turkey bacon and gargonzola cheese. They turn out amazing and with any extra stuffing I use it as a salad topping the next day for lunch.
My cooking tragedies
So far I have been able to save just about everything I try.

Tomato and Mozzarella Bites
Drizzled some balsamic vinegar over it. I love them and they last in the fridge for a couple days. Perfect thing to bring to a summer BBQ.

Carrot Pineapple Cake I
My fiancee's favorite cake is carrot cake, but I have never really liked it till I tried this recipe. The extra tropical flavors make this delicious. I also loved the the cream cheese frosting wasn't too sweet. I made cupcakes with it last july 4th and adjusted the cooking time down a bit. I am going to try making the sheet cake tomorrow for his birthday. He says this is his favorite carrot cake ever.

Mango Salsa
I made this with a mango that was a bit soft, but it still worked. This was really spicy though. The next time I will use a fresher mango, only add 1/2 the jalepeno pepper and maybe add some fresh pineapple chunks to sweeten it up a bit. I put a bit over a piece of Mahi Mahi and it was great. I used it as a salad dressing (similar to how I use regular salsa), but it lacked flavor, so over meat or with chips is great.
