Texas Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2014
This tasted really good! It was incredibly easy to make too. I added about 2 more tablespoons of milk to make it a more spreadable consistency. It wasn't too sweet and it tasted great on a yellow cake. I'll definitely use this recipe again.

Best Ever Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2012
These tasted really good. Even better the next day, (stayed moist in a container). I added 3/4 cup frozen blueberries to mine. Fabulous! These are very inexpensive and easy to make. Thanks for the recipe.

Paul's Pumpkin Bars

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2011
These were really delicious. I took other reviewers suggestions and changed some things. I used a 29 oz. can of pure pumpkin, 1/2 cup oil and 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce, 3 eggs instead of 4, I halved the baking powder and baking soda, and I also cut back on the sugar to 1-1/3 cup. I also added 1 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice. Even though I really changed the recipe, the basic ingredients are the same. I baked it in a 9 x 13 pan for about 35 minutes. They turned out moist and bar-like. The only thing I did different for the cream cheese frosting was using 4 ounces instead of 3. It was so delicious! Probably the best cream cheese icing I've ever tasted! I would have given this recipe 5 stars but since I changed so many things it made it slightly different.

Cinnamon Swirl Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2011
This was VERY good! I'm giving it five stars because not only did it taste good, it was very easy to make too. Simple ingredients everybody has on hand, and doesn't require a mixer either. I messed up and put 2 T. of cinnamon in instead of 2 teaspoons, so I added another 1/3 cup of sugar to that mixture and layered it in 3 times instead of 2. No big deal though, it still turned out great. Thanks so much for this easy, inexpensive and delicious recipe!

Easy Pumpkin Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2010
These tasted kind of sticky and chewy. I didn't care for them (thought they tasted weird), but my mother liked them. Really easy to make, but the batter is so thick it just doesn't seem natural. Won't be making these again, sorry.

Juicy Peach Crisp

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2010
This was Very Good!! I used vanilla extract because I didn't have any almond extract. Next time I won't use any. I used only about 1/2 cup of white sugar. Next time I may use more. I also took the suggestion of other people and used 1/2 cup flour and 1/2 cup quick cooking oats. Turned out great! Very delicious and easy to make!!!!!

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2010
I thought this tasted pretty good. I halved the white sugar because I'm trying to cut back. The topping was a little drier than I'm used to but all in all it tasted good. Next time I'll omit the baking powder and baking soda because I didn't like the fact that the topping rose during cooking.

Mom's Pie Crust

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2010
I usually use crisco to make my crusts but I was out of it, so I used this recipe. I thought it was too bland. I should have omitted the sugar and added a little salt. On the bright side, it was easy to work with and baked well, but I just thought it had very little taste.

Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2010
This was absolutely delicious and easy to make!! This was my first blueberry pie I ever made and it turned out beautifully. I used flour instead of cornstarch–no problem. I made a crust using the traditional crisco recipe (My favorite). I'd rate it more stars if I could! Thanks for the recipe, I'll definitely be using this again!

Best Ever Blueberry Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2010
This was pretty good. I added cinnamon as other reviewers suggested, but I must have added too much because the cinnamon taste over powered the recipe. Next time I'll omit it. I also added 1 extra tablespoon of sugar and I think it made it a little too sweet. I didn't add any orange juice because I didn't have any. I also added 1 tablespoon of flour so that it wouldn't be too runny. Next time I'll just make the recipe as stated and not change anything. I thought this tasted better cold than it did hot. It actually was more like a cake than like a cobbler. All in all it tasted pretty good, was easy to make and it's a great way to use up blueberries.

Baked Parmesan-Crusted Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2010
I made this tonight and it was delicious!! I didn't have any bread crumbs so I used flour. I also didn't have any garlic so I added garlic salt to the mixture. I cooked the chicken twice as long as stated with a cover on. It was so moist and tender. My picky husband even like it. So easy and cheap to make! I'll definitely be making this again. Thanks for the recipe!!

Special Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2010
I took other reviewer's recommendations and used 1/2 shortening, 1/2 butter. I also used pure vanilla extract, but used a little less than 2 teaspoons. I used a little bit more salt and about 1 cup more confectioners' sugar than called for. (It came out perfectly white, no problems). Make sure you beat this for over 5 minutes. Let me tell you, I am an icing junkie and this rates up there with the best!! It tasted exactly like icing from the bakery. Thank you for the recipe, I'll definitely be making this again!!!

Blueberry Coffee Cake I

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2010
I'm not sure what I did wrong, half of the cake stuck to my bundt pan and the streusel topping got really hard and crumbly (not pleasant to eat). This tasted okay but will probably not make again.

Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2010
These muffins did not have a good taste. I took other reviewer's advice and used only 1/2 cup of oil instead of 3/4 cup, 1 cup of milk, and 1 cup of chocolate chips. They just tasted too oily for me. Will not make again.

Gram's Chicken Pot Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2010
This tasted pretty good to me, but my husband didn't care for it too much. Anyway, it was really simple to make. I used condensed cream of chicken soup instead of mushroom and used about 3/4 cup of chicken broth instead of water, and no bouillon granules. Tasted good except could have used more broth as it was kind of dry. I'll make this again but not anytime soon because of hubby. Thank you for this quick and easy recipe.

Oven Fried Chicken III

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2010
I made this last night and it was very delicious. Even my picky husband and daughter both liked it. It's a pretty simple and easy recipe. The skin got very crispy and I never eat the skin but this was very tasty! I only used about 3 tablespoons of butter since I only had about 1-1/2 pounds of chicken parts. Turned out great, just like fried chicken. Thank you for the recipe. I'm already planning on making this next week.

Texas Ranch Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2010
I liked this but my picky husband and picky daughter did not. Anyhow, this is fairly inexpensive and easy to make. I did not have olive oil so I didn't use any oil at all. Still turned out good. I might make this again and see if they change their minds.

Banana Chocolate Chip Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2010
This tasted very good and was very easy to make. The chocolate chips add a nice flavor to this cake without being overpowering. I used 3 smaller size bananas but I think I should have used 1 or even 2 more for more banana flavor. Next time I'll use more bananas and maybe even a little bit more sugar too. All in all a very easy to put together and great tasting cake. Thank you for the recipe!

Quick and Easy Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2010
These were different than boxed brownies... but SO much better! I reduced flour to 1-1/8 cup and replaced the 1 cup of butter with 1/2 cup butter & 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce. I didn't have any walnuts so I threw in 3/4 cup of semi sweet chocolate chips. I used a 9x9 pan and they took longer to bake but boy are these EXCELLENT! This is the first time I baked brownies from scratch and this recipe was easy and delicious!! Thanks for the recipe, it's a definite keeper!
