Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2012
YUM! I found my new favorite soup! Thank you, Ellie11! I made exactly as instructed-- no need to change a thing! Hearty and full of flavor, this soup will not disappoint. Great way to use up those last potatoes from a bag!

Blueberry Gelatin Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2008
Terrific! I was looking for something easy and coo to "throw together"; this fit the bill. I used 1 1/2 cups fresh blueberries and 1/2 cup water instead of the canned blueberries. I also sprinkled 1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts on top, to add crunch. Wiull definitely make again!

Microwave Peanut Brittle

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2007
Can't get any easier than this! I have never made peanut brittle; this was my first attempt. Took me a whopping 10 minutes, and the results were fantastic!!! I used 2 Tbs. butter as other suggested. Easily peeled off the baking sheet. Much better than any brittle I've tried in the past. Thanks so much for the recipe!!

Tommy's Ham Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2007
Well, I made this with my leftover ham. Made some adjustments as others suggested: included 1 cup ea. sauteed onion and celery; used 2 cans cream of mushroom soup mixed with 1/2 soup can of milk (plus a few extra TBS of milk); pinch of garlic powder; dash of pepper; small squeeze of spicy brown mustard. For the cheese - I used 1 cup shredded cheddar, and 1 cup shredded pepper jack. I also used crushed Ritz crackers on top of the casserole. When it was done, I tasted it before taking out of my roaster oven. Fantastic! BUT.... when I removed it from the roaster, my casserole dish slipped from my hands, and down went the casserole all over my kitchen floor! What a mess, coupled with breaking my favorite dish!! Glad I was able to taste it before it ended up all over the floor!! I think the pepper jack cheese gave it the extra "zing" that some reviewers said it needs. I will be making this again tomorrow.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2007
If I could give this 6 stars, I would. So easy, even a caveman can do it! I placed 4 frozen chicken breasts in the crock. I then added 2 cans of fat-free cream of chicken soup. I covered it with 1 can of chicken broth, as others suggested. I cooked it on low a total of 10 hours. After 7 hours, I added 1 can of mixed peas and carrots, and topped it with regrigerated crescent roll dough, torn into small pieces. It cooked the remaining 3 hours, and all I can say is - fantastic! I will definitely be making this often. My husband LOVED it, and he is very picky! Thank you, Janiece!

Pizzelles II

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2007
I received a pizzelle iron as a gift. A friend gave me her recipe for pizelles, and hers always get rave reviews. But her recipe requires the batter to chill overnight. I saw this recipe and thought I'd give it a try. A+++++! It was so easy, and my pizzelles turned out perfect! Thanks, Betty!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2007
This was my first attempt at a pot pie -- I couldn't have been more pleased. Turned out fantastic! I added a dash of poultry seasoning, as well as some chicken bouillon granules. Used a store pot frozen pie shell. Yum! I will make this often!

Zippy Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2006
This was my first attempt at deviled eggs. I thought they were great. Be careful with the hot sauce. I reached for the hot sauce from my pantry, not realizing it was "Dave's Insanity Hot Sauce" which I had never tried, but was recommended by a friend for use in another recipe. Very potent! I will make these again, but with a few drops of "Frank's Hot Sauce" instead. Great recipe.

Cream Cheese Penguins

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2006
I can't say enough about these cute little penguins! They were a big hit on Christmas Eve with my family. Much to my surprise, they didn't take long to assemble. I added some onion powder to the cream cheese for flavoring. Will definitely be making these again, perhaps to take to the office. Thanks for the great idea!

Warm Heart Stew

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2006
Wonderful stew! I made it today for the first time, and it is awesome! Bold & flavorful if you are looking for some great flavor. I love to make soups and stews, especially in the Fall, and was loking for something a little different. I found it here! Thanks, Loolay, for a fantastic recipe! It is going in my "favorites" file, but I think I will rename it "Oktoberfest stew"! A good Pilsner with this one hits the spot!

Amish Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2006
Love it, Love it, Love it! Made it yesterday to have with our burgers & dogs. The only things I did differently were: (1) I only used 1/8 c. sugar, and (2) I used Spicy Brown Mustard instead of yellow, to give it extra zip. Just had some with lunch -- it's even better the next day! Thanks for the great recipe --this will be my staple Macaroni Salad from now on!

This was great! I used frozen chicken breasts and cooked on low for 10 hours. The chicken was so moist! This is a definite keeper - great for those days when you don't feel like cooking, but want a home-cooked meal.

Slow Cooker Pepper Steak

I made this the other day as I am always seeking new recipes for the Crock Pot. Great change from the traditional "Beef Stew", and smart way to use up the abundance of green peppers! Will make again.
