Just made this for supper and it turned out very well. Instead of the onion soup mix I used one sliced onion and added a beef boullion cube. I was disappointed when I went to the cupboard and did not have soy sauce so I had to omit it but added a little Worcestershire sauce. I cooked it for 4 hours on low in my slow cooker and it was perfect,very tender and saturated with flavor. Served it with mashed potatoes and thickened the broth a little. My picky kids loved it and it is not often they compliment me on the meal! I will give my husband the left-overs on a bun with barbecue sauce for lunch tomorrow. Thanks for a recipe I will be making again.
