Susan's Vinaigrette Coleslaw

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2013
Just made it & loved it! I also added red cabbage because I had some. I didn't measure the cabbage..used half a head of green & a quarter head of red...it needed more dressing for that amount so I just doubled the dressing ingredients. Easy & delicious & I will be making it instead of the mayo type. Thanks for sharing this great recipe!

Best Friend Doggie Biscuits

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2013
These are so easy....and our dogs love them! My 12 yr old daughter made them for Christmas gifts and all the dogs we gave them to loved them. I liked that they were inexpensive and used ingredients we had on hand. We made the chicken broth from boullion. Going to try to keep our dogs supplied in these!

Country Turkey Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 5, 2011
I tried this last night with leftover turkey. For the vegetables I cooked some fresh carrots & opened a can of greenbeans. I followed the recipe exactly and my family liked it a lot. The only thing I would do differently next time it to make more stuffing for the top. The topping was pretty skimpy and next time I will double the amount. I think it would also be good with the addition of a little tarragon. It was quick and easy and a comforting meal for a cool evening.

Chocolate Waffles I

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2011
Followed the recipe exactly & they turned out very well..made 3 7in. round waffles. I would describe the texture as more pancake like but my kids loved them. I made the hard sauce which is basically an icing & they loved it. I would try them with strawberries & whipped cream next time. Very easy recipe & I will be making these again.

Hearty Harvest and Ham Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2009
Just made this for supper on this cold rainy day with homemade bread and it was wonderful! I used all ingredients the recipe called for but had to add a little more water. Still have spinach & cabbage in the garden so that worked out well. Do not leave out the caraway seed, it really gave it a wonderful flavor. Will definately make again!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Oct. 16, 2009
These are awesome! I followed the recipe exactly and they turned out great-soft and chewy. I think I might use a little less chocolate chips next time. A glass of milk is a must have with these!

Chicken and Biscuit Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2009
Yummy! I used frozen peas and only 1 tsp. of basil in the biscuits because I was worried it might be too much for our taste. As for the biscuits I followed the recipe on the Bisquick box which calls for 2 1/4 cups mix and just dropped the biscuits on top. It made 9 biscuits which covered the top just right. Very easy & delicious. Great meal on a cool day. Thanks!

Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2009
I used over a pound of chicken and was glad I did. I followed the recipe exactly otherwise and added about 1/2 cup water.(1/4 would have been fine) We liked it but I think rice would have been a good addition. My picky kids did not like it but at least ate the chicken. Good flavor.

Easy Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2009
Delicious! My Dad's favorite-he says taste just like what he gets at the local icecream shop. I used 3/4 tsp. peppermint extract and I thought it was still pretty strong. Instead of the mini chips, I shredded one milk chocolate bar so they would melt quickly in the mouth and not be hard. Will definately add this to my favorites. Thanks!

Kettle Corn

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2009
I am so excited to find this recipe!! It is wonderful. I have one of those stove top poppers with the crank handle. I put the sugar in first and let it dissolve before adding the corn and then just kept stirring. It turned out great and I will be making it often. Thanks!!

Rockin' Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2009
The recipe I have been looking for! I have already made 3 turns of it and plan to make more. I think it is comparable in heat to a medium salsa you would buy at the store. I used a 12 oz. can of paste because it was all I had and it turned out thick enough. I also used 3 regular onions. We have enjoyed it with chips and it will be great with Mexican dishes. Too spicy for the kids so I may try a batch with very little cayenne. Thanks for a wonderful recipe!

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2009
Just made this for supper and it turned out very well. Instead of the onion soup mix I used one sliced onion and added a beef boullion cube. I was disappointed when I went to the cupboard and did not have soy sauce so I had to omit it but added a little Worcestershire sauce. I cooked it for 4 hours on low in my slow cooker and it was perfect, very tender and saturated with flavor. Served it with mashed potatoes and thickened the broth a little. My picky kids loved it and it is not often they compliment me on the meal! I will give my husband the left-overs on a bun with barbecue sauce for lunch tomorrow. Thanks for a recipe I will be making again.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: May 23, 2009
Maybe my bananas were too ripe? but I was not impressed at all with the taste of this bread. I tried it because it was so highly rated but was disappointed in the bland taste. Maybe some spices would have helped. I usually use very ripe bananas to bake with and these were very mushy so maybe that accounted for the strong unpleasant banana taste.

Creamy Black Bean Dip

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2009
I made this recipe for the first time this weekend for my 6 yr. old daughters birthday party. She had a frog theme and I wanted to make "fly dip." Even with this unappatizing name, everyone loved it! I had many parents ask for the recipe and my husband loved it. It was so fast and easy to make. I did not change a thing in the recipe and served it with tortilla chips. I will definately be making it again. Thanks!
