New England Clam Chowder I

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2013
I tried this recipe and it was great. Yes, it seemed a bit watery. If you let the pot sit on low for 10 minutes or so and stir, the potatoes will thicken it at bit. I will follow the advise from others next time and substitute some of the water for clam juice, and while stirring the bacon with onions add some flour to make a roux. Also, I may do it with turkey bacon next time.

Great cookies, if you add orange or vanilla extract it would be even better.

Applesauce Pork Loin

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2010
I didn't like it. It has no flavor in the inside of the pork. Very bland

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2010
The first batch I did, I added the extra half a cup of flour and half a tablespoon of baking soda. It came out ok, but too crunchy, like the oats didn't cook long enough. 2nd batch I added applesauce instead of half a cup of splenda( for the sugar) and it came out chewy & fluffy. Looks really professional. lol I like the applesauce in it, makes a big difference.

Colleen's Slow Cooker Jambalaya

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
I made the mistake of buying the andouille spicy sausage. I should have gotten the regular. A few things I would change on here is, do half the amount of green peppers, onions, and celery. Its too much. I had more green peppers than rice on my plate. Also, its too much heat. I like spicy food, but when its so hot that all you taste is the heat and not the flavor, its a bit much. I think next time I will do it again with turkey kielbasa and half the amt of veggies and regular seasonings and cajun seasoning. Omitting the cayenne. Its too much. I drained most of the juice and green peppers and going to mix it with spagetti sauce for next day left overs. Hopefully that will cool these heat down a bit.

Crab Rangoon

Reviewed: May 22, 2010
These turned out great! Make sure you have a dipping sauce if you like the rangoons a little on the sweet side. Or like another reviewer, add a little sugar. Otherwise, they are great. Oven makes them crispy and not greasy like regular takeout.

Slow-Cooked Sweet 'n' Sour Pork

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2010
The recipe is easy to make. However, it lacks in the seasoning department. I felt that the pork in the crockpot turned out soft, yet tasteless. I don't usually just season pork with just paprika. I tasted more pineapple and sugar and bland pork than anything. The onion gave the sauce a strong taste, so i took some out. Had no green peppers. I usually don't have goodluck with crockpots.

Almond-Crusted Tilapia

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2009
I never know what to do with my Tilapia. I finally found an interesting recipe. One bite and I must say, it was impressive! Next time to cut down on the fat, I will exchange the butter for EVOO.
