Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: May 4, 2011
this is SO good! I had this at a friend's house, and my husband nearly ate the whole thing there. I was so excited when I saw this here! I've made this a few times now, and everyone who has tried it LOVES it! It is fool-proof. My husband would love it if I had this available every day! Thank you!

Gluten Free Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2013
this is GREAT!!! I made 2 loaves. The kids LOVE it and it made the house smell great while it was baking. My changes: I used 1 full cup rice flour (no sweet rice flour) I used 1/2 cup butter in place of the oil. I used ground flax seed in place of the xanthum gum. I left out the glaze, the kids love it without! I will definitely be making this again! I doubled the recipe and have 2 beautiful loaves. Oh and the crust really is beautiful. Thank you!

Fried Cornmeal Mush

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2012
I loved this, much better than grits! I sweetened with honey and brown sugar. I served it as a porridge, and followed the tip to stir the cornmeal into 1 cup cold water before adding it to the 2 cups of boiling water. Success! I then rolled the cooled mix into 'mush balls' and served it to my kids that way also.

Delicious Raspberry Oatmeal Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
Delicious! Made these with my 20 month old son and was a great time! very easy and a great 'kid-friendly' recipe, he was able to help with every step and i didn't have to worry about him ingesting raw eggs! We used cherry jam and a little leftover strawberry jam. Also doubled the recipe (must do! they go fast and sit well so you'll enjoy having some 'leftovers', if they last that long!) and used Quick Oats. Was great! Will DEFINITELY make again!! Very adaptable recipe!

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
i'm not much of a 'banana bread' fan, but wow was this good!! Used some applesauce and baby banana food from a jar to make the total 2 1/3 cups banana required (i only had about 1 3/4 cups mashed banana). It turned out great!! NOTE: this molds easily, at least it did for me, lasted 3 days. maybe becuase all the fruit in it. next time i'll store it in the fridge as soon as it cools! Thanks!

Grandma's Old Fashioned Tea Cakes

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
WOW SO DELICIOUS!!!! I made these with my son, 21 months old. The dough sat in the fridge for almost 3 days (was a few busy days!) and it still worked great! Rolled our dough a little thinner (every one was different, due to my son!) and some thicker, made a total of 55 cookies! Very forgiving recipe, and worked GREAT!! My husband and his buddies called these Manna (food from Heaven)! =) Also topped some with the frosting from 'Delilah's Frosted Cut-out Sugar Cookies' recipe from here, and they turned out great!! Will DEFINITELY make again! My favorite!!

Slow Cooker Tomato Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
i really liked this! I liked that it is pretty healthy, and doesn't use canned creamed soup. (i use enough of that!) I did add a can of tomato soup, to make more sauce (there's no MSG in tomato soup, yay!) and i used a little less than 2 tbsp of the soy sauce. I was hesitant to try this b/c of the soy sauce (i'm just not a fan!), but my husband loves soy sauce, so I gave it a try and wow i really loved it! So fast and so easy. Will definitely make again. Thanks!

Cake Mix Cookies VIII

Reviewed: May 3, 2011
these are so good! I used cherry chip cake mix with white chocolate chips (everyone loved these, they couldn't figure out how I made them!) and devil's food cake mix with semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips. They were a hit! And they are most definitely EASY! Will make again. Thank you!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: May 3, 2011
this is WONDERFUL! I've made this several times now, and it has become my 'go-to' recipe for cornbread. I don't own a cast iron skillet (i know, it's crazy!) so I'm so glad to find a recipe that doesnt call for one, that turns out so fabulous! I like to drizzle honey and butter over the top as soon as it comes out of the oven. I'm not a big carb or bread eater, but I LOVE this! thank you!

Christmas Egg Puff

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2009
very good! I used shredded mozzarella in place of the monterey jack (all i had), and added some onion powder and garlic powder along with salt and pepper before baking. I also put some thawed and drained broccoli in the bottom before adding the egg mixture. Turned out great and i agree it is very adaptable! Even my 20 month old asked for seconds. very simple yet good!
