Lemon Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2010
This is incredible! Used the whipped cream cheese, only because it is easier to manipulate. Used 2 packages of Kool Aid Lemonade mix and a tad more powdered sugar, but only because I used more lemonade mix than was called for. Amazing recipe! Thanks!

Flank Steak a la Willyboy

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2009
You have got to be kidding me! This is the BEST marinade I have ever had, honestly. My first time trying flank steak, and I was scared, believe me. I wasn't sure how it would turn out. Absolutely out of this world fabulous! I have chicken marinating as I type. I expect nothing but greatness from it. And he is right. If you can't marinate overnight, don't even waste your time. Believe me, it is well worth the wait!

Honey Bun Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2009
Very good! I love to bake cakes just to see how they turn out. We don't eat a lot of sweets so they usually end up at my husband's work. He said everyone gobbled it up. We even took some to our vet's office and they loved it too.

Rachael's Superheated Cajun Boiled Peanuts

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2009
My one passion in life is boiled peanuts! I grew up in peanut country (Dothan AL) so I have eaten boiled peanuts all my life. This was just ok for me. Not bad, but not great either.

Irish Cream Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2009
Very tasty! I used a white cake mix, french vanilla, and vanilla pudding (not instant). The only thing I wish I had done differently is poke the holes a bit deeper so the glaze could soak further into the cake. I followed another user's idea and poured the glaze into the bundt pan and put the cake back in there for about 20 minutes. Awesome flavor!

Hot Chicken Salad I

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2009
Excellent! I followed the recipe to the T and it was perfect. The celery is a must have. And it stays crispy! It's even good cold! A keeper for sure!

Miss Bettie's Zesty Grilled Corn

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2009
This was unbelievably tasty! I never would have thought of these seasonings for corn, but it was awesome. Not spicy to me at all. The mustard is really the 'must have' ingredient. I didn't even taste the horseradish. May use a bit more next time. It is imperative that you wrap loosly to allow for steam. That is what keeps it moist and tender. I thought 20 minutes on the grill, indirect heat, was ideal. Thanks for a fabulous idea!

Cabbage on the Grill

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2009
Very tasty. Definitely add salt and cracked pepper. I used a little kosher salt and it did the trick. I would venture to say that 30-40 minutes is actually too long. Next time I'll take it off at 20 minutes and check it. I would prefer it be a bit more firmer. Great idea for cabbage, though!

Southern Grits Casserole

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
Love it, Love it, Love it! I used italian pork sausage and the spiciness added a wonderful unexpected zap! I made this for my family during a recent visit and everyone raved over it. I thought my brother was going to eat the whole pan! Will definitely make this again. We are from Alabama, so grits are a staple in our cupbards!

Stuffed French Toast II

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
This was very good. I made it for my family during a recent visit. Everyone liked it except my neice, who is 15. She tried it but in the end wanted her usual plain jane french toast. I did use mascarpone cheese instead of cream cheese, and it was very, very good.

Sour Cream Burgers

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
This was just ok for me. I don't regret trying the recipe, I just probably won't make it again, at least not without adding more spices. The sour cream taste was very mild. It did put a different spin on the traditional burger, and it was fun trying!

Cream Cheese Pound Cake III

Reviewed: May 3, 2009
Superb! This is the first pound cake I have ever made and it turned out exceptional! I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of adding lemon flavoring along with the vanilla. I also topped it with a simple lemon glaze made from powdered sugar and lemon juice. I didn't ice it completely, just drizzled it over the cake. It added pops of lemon flavor here and there. I tasted the cake prior to drizzling the glaze and it was equally as good without it. This is a wonderful recipe, that presents a moist flavorful cake. I love it!

Cheddar Cabbage Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
I'm really not sure what to say about this. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't excellent either. I followed the recipe exactly. It was acceptable. I would much rather have steamed, boiled, or sauteed cabbage. Probably won't make it again.

Four Cheese Macaroni Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
The only reason I'm giving this a 4 star rating is because I've had better. But this was very good. After I got it assembled I was really concerned about the lack of liquid, so I added about a fourth cup of water (didn't have milk on hand), and it turned out very good. Much better than I expected.

Ricotta Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
I'm not sure what all the rave is about. The only thing I did differently was add fresh blueberries to the cake mix. It's hard to describe the texture, and the taste was like eating bread. I was expecting more of a cheesecake flavor. Not so impressed with this one.
