Sheboygan Grilled Brats

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2011
Ahhh, what a beautiful brat this cooks up. Flavorful, tender, moist, perfect. I've made them according to this recipe without the grilling and they're still delicious.

Penne Pasta with Spinach and Bacon

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
My kids loved this! I used baby spinach, added a little parm, and reduced the pasta quantity a bit.

Garbanzo Bean Chocolate Cake (Gluten Free!)

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
This is awesome! It tastes delicious. My kids love it. It's rich and high in protein. You would never know it's made with garbanzo beans. I've tried to double this recipe twice, because it's so good and not enough to share, but it never works out. Otherwise, I'd give it 5 stars!

A to Z Everything-but-the-Kitchen-Sink Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
These are so good! They are not like traditional chocolate chip cookies, so if you're seeking Toll House, you might be disappointed. I love all the added ingredients. Thanks!

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
Made these for a dinner party and everyone loved them! I agree with another reviewer that it doesn't look very appetizing, but it tastes very good. I would chop everything up a little finer next time, including the cooked ground beef, to make it easier to roll/eat.

Simple Beef Flavored Gravy

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
Quick, easy, delicious, and chemical free! I used organic beef broth instead of the bouillon and water, and coconut oil instead of the butter.

Avocado Icing

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
This is a fabulous alternative to frosting. It was tasty. My kids loved it. It has a citrus flavor, so I would only use it on lemon, orange, or other fruity-type cupcakes in the future. Also, it was a little runny and refridgeration didn't help it much. The color does change with oxidation, but not much until a day or two later.

Porcupines

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
I tried this recipe twice, and both times the rice turned out crunchy. I used bison meat, which tasted great. If I make this again, I'll boil the rice for a couple minutes first.

Grilled Halibut with Cilantro Garlic Butter

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
Delicious. We used tilapia, because that's what we had on hand. Even my kids liked the sauce.

Classic Greek Spinach

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
This was pretty good. I did reduce the oil by half, because I served this as a side dish with meat. I enjoyed it. Thanks!

Watermelon Cooler Slushy

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2009
I didn't use the salt, and substituted frozen strawberries for the ice cubes. This was good, but very tangy from the lime, so I also added about 1/8c of agave to sweeten it a bit. Very refreshing.

Ellen's Buffalo Meatloaf

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2009
This was fabulous! My kids loved it. I used a can of petite diced tomatoes and finely diced the onions, as another reviewer recommended. I added 2 pcs of whole grain bread, instead of 1. Very moist, cooked quickly in my convection oven. Will definately make again! Thanks for the recipe!

Grilled Sausage with Potatoes and Green Beans

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2009
Made this for guests and kids. Everyone really liked it. It is a tasty and very easy 1-dish meal. It's also portable. Before or after you cook it, you can transport your packets to the park or pool easily.

Zucchini-Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2009
I amended the recipe to make it a bit healthier. I substituted 1/2 c apple sauce for 1/2 c of the oil, added a mashed ripe banana, used 1 c of whole wheat flour and 2 c regular flour, and used only 1 c of demarcara sugar. These were delicious! I doubled the recipe and made 18 giant muffins and 12 mini-muffins. Great recipe! Thanks!
