English Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2011
These really are wonderful! Absolutely traditional style of English muffins I will make again. Just note, this makes a lot of dough. I had to freeze half of it!

Special K Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2011
I made mine on the stovetop (only simmered it for 2 minutes) and threw in some chocolate chips at the last minute and they were fabulous! Love how crunchy they were and that there was no a lot of saturated fat yet felt very sinful thanks to all the sugar. Big hit with friends too. A great summer treat that really feeds a crowd.

Whole Wheat Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2011
Fantastic! This dough worked perfectly for my portobello and sundried tomato with goat cheese raviolis. I even froze it for a while and still, the flavour was wonderful. Could hardly tell it was whole wheat (not a fan usually) and will make this again. Thank you so much! Oh and BTW, you can easily make this in a food processor which takes all the work out of the process.

Grandma's Gingerbread Pancakes

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2011
These were very good but if you want to make them a five out of five, add a little more salt and replace 1 cup of water with 1 cup of buttermilk. I promise you, these will be even better!

Authentic Kicked-Up Syrian Hummus

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2010
This truly did taste like authentic hummus to me. Using roasted garlic is the best way to make it and I loved it and will be serving it at my Halloween party this year. I will be making it from now on too, so good and even my husband likes it and he is even pickier than I am.

Bread Machine Pumpernickel Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2010
This was a moist and delicate loaf of pumpernickel bread which tends to be coarse and dry. I found the smell of cocoa a little weird but then realized this is a very creative way to give it that dark colour without using blackened sugar. I love that there are healthy flours used in this bread so I feel less guilty while eating it. The caraway seeds add wonderful rustic flavour. I made croutons of this bread in the shape of bats for my Halloween crouton post. Terrific on my roasted squash soup!

A-Number-1 Banana Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 30, 2010
I baked this in a large baking pan for around 35 minutes and used chocolate chips instead of walnuts and it was so super moist and tasty! It could feed an army though or make it for a party because that is a lot of cake!

Chocolate Brittle Surprise

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2010
I am also one of the many who is glad I read the positive reviews and gave this weird-looking recipe a shot. It's fantastic! I even used some old matzah on the bottom when I ran out of crackers (which were salted and worked out fine) and it just gave the brittle some additional structure and crunch. This tastes like a Skor chocolate bar. I LOVED this one. Bravo!

Spanakopita II

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2010
These are fantastic! My only complaint is that you really do not need to season with salt because the feta is so salty, as a result mine was a little too salty but I still loved it.

Soft Onion Sandwich Rolls

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2010
I had to add a lot more liquid to make this dough come together, the first time was a disaster! Since then I have just added additional water to it and they are fabulous. I even wrote about them on my blog and gave them four out of five wooden spoons. Thanks so much, this recipe brought me right back to my childhood.

Classic Waffles

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2010
This is a great waffle recipe, definitely a classic. My only issue is how much batter should go in the waffle maker and for how long? I am new to the waffle-making world and have tried making these numerous times with lots of issues so more instructions would have been helpful. They are delicious though!

Rugelach

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2009
Absolutely fantastic! I loved this recipe and could not believe how flakey the dough came out. I made it with homemade candied chestnuts (I had to do something with them) and cranberries and they are now one of my new favs. I reviewed them on my blog too so other people will try them. Thanks so much!

Best Ever Popcorn Balls

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2009
These are great popcorn balls! Gooey, delicious and not difficult to make. My only concern is I did not know how long to wait to make the balls and ended up burning my hands a couple of times. I did not want them to cool off too much and miss having the opportunity to put them together. I really like how simple this recipe is and reviewed it on my blog where you can see pictures of me making them.

Caraway Rye Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
I created this dough with my breadmaker. I put the wet ingredients on the bottom and topped with sugar, salt, the flours and topped with the caraway seeds and yeast. I selected the dough cycle and saw that it was a little too wet so I added 1/4 cup of all purpose flour and a couple of hours later had heavenly dough. The bread was absolutely perfection! Thank you so much for this recipe. I reviewed it on my blog.
