Grandma VanDoren's White Bread

This is the best bread I've ever made - bar none!! Before I added my own twist, I made it according to your recipe... My family loves it! I've also tried making it with 2.5 cups of whole wheat flour replacing some of the white and have had success! This recipe doubles well and freezes excellently. Thank you for sharing your grandma's recipe... it has become a treasured part of our family's recipe book too!

Scalloped Potatoes and Onions

We LOVE these potatoes!!! After making them according to the original recipe, which was a big hit!, I tried adding a cheddar cheese layer in the middle, and again as a topping after the sauce went on. Mmmmmm... Try 'em, you'll love 'em!! Bon Appetit!!!

Flatlander Chili with a small change

This is the best chili ever! I made the original recipe exactly according to direction for my kids' school hot lunch program and it was a hit. It's my go-to chili recipe now!! However, I like the small change included here where tomato sauce is substituted for the juice. I find it's a little thicker AND I always have tomato sauce on hand, but not necessarily juice - a little more pantry friendly for me!! Try this chili... you'll love it too!!!!!!

Flatlander Chili

I make this according to the original recipe. It's easy, it's delicious and it's a favourite at our house. I made it for the hot lunch program at the kids' school, although omitted the cayenne for that occasion. It was the most requested for "seconds". Thanks for sharing!!

Cheddar Baked Chicken

This is a great dish!! Even my fussiest baby loved it!! Will definitely make it again. I didn't have any Italian breadcrumbs and so I substituted crushed seasoned croutons... it still was a hit!!

Slow Cooker Stuffing

Having grown up on traditional stuffing, I was skeptical about a slow cooker stuffing. I am thrilled with how this turned out. Having followed the recipe exactly, I found that it's moist, flavourful and just plain yummy! I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great stuffing.

Easy Apple Cinnamon Muffins

These were very yummy. I made the batter, refrigerated it and baked the muffins in the morning. They turned out beautifully. I opted for cinnamon sugar rather than the topping to save time. It made a sweet, crunchy top without the extra fat. I also added more milk as the batter was dry. I found the recipe easily made 12 muffins rather than 6, which is what the recipe says. A definite "do-over"!

Broccoli Hamburger Casserole

Loved this casserole. Quick and easy on a busy day. My 4 kids ate it all up, and hubby liked it too. I also tweaked it to our tastes -- left out the mushrooms because I didn't have any on hand and used seasoning salt instead of regular. Also substituted cr. of mushroom soup for the celery. Jalapeno havarti cheese on top instead of Monterey Jack. Served with rice. I'd like to try it with potatoes cooked in, as suggested in other reviews. Definitely a recipe I'll use again. It's even a great one for starter cooks, like my 9 year old!
