Tiramisu II

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2014
Amazing flavor! We were out of Vanilla and used Almond extract instead. I think we'll stick with that because it was so good.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2012
Great flavor! Sett off the fire alarm twice because of the broiling. I truly hate broiling food for this reason but it was worth it.

Cornish Hens the Easy Way

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2012
We only had one chicken. As suggested by others on here I used 1/2 T chili powder and 1/2 T cumin. (in addition to the salt and pepper) It tasted great! I also put some lime juice and the spices in the cavity. I changed the cooking time. After the first 15 minutes on 450 C. I took the temp. down to 350 C. and baked for 50 minutes. Will make this again.

Low Sugar / No Sugar Strawberry Jam

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2012
I used this recipe for making 12 8oz jars of Strawberry jam and it turned out perfect! It was my first time making jam ever and I also never did canning before. I used honey and apple juice as well. I multiplied this recipe x8 and it called for 3 cups of sugar or sugar substitute. With a regular jam recipe it calls for 7 or 8 cups of sugar. So not sure if I could call this recipe low sugar but at least you can use honey instead of granulated sugar so it's still so much better. Will make this again!

Pavlova

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2012
Made this today for the first time and followed all the instructions and also took note of some tips in here from other reviews like: "don't use a plastic bowl" and " let the eggs come to room temperature before messing with them. It came out perfect! I have to make 2 more tomorrow. This one was a tester.

Banana Cream Pie I

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2012
This turned out so well! I've never made a pie like this from scratch before. I followed some of the pudding making tips from one other reviewer. Also used half and half instead of milk. and did 1 TBS of vanilla extract. I also let the mixture cool a bit before adding the egg yolks. I let it the pudding chill in the fridge overnight covered with Saranwrap to avoid getting the leathery skin on top of pudding.

I can successfully make a pizza now. Thank you! I will try out the "letting the yeast rise" methods sometime too, but quick and easy is definitely my style.

Country Pound Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2012
I love this recipe! the first time I made a bund cake and turned out so well. the second time I made it in a metal loaf pan but the edges turned out a bit too over done and in the middle there was still a small uncooked spot. Bund cake it is! Thanks. will be making this many more times. I also added icing. so yummy.

Hot Cocoa Mix in a Jar

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2012
We made this to put in jars for christmas gifts. it tastes just like any other hot cocoa mix I think. Not exceptional. it just makes it more special because you make it from scratch. We added some crushed candy cane to it as well which made for a nice colorful layer in the jar. That gave it it's unique flavor.
