My favorite things to cook
breads and like to prepare homestyle ethnic food
My favorite family cooking traditions
no one really likes to cook except me. hmmm!
My cooking triumphs
a thanksgiving dinner that was a mix of american traditional and cuban food!
My cooking tragedies
please dont judge me on this.. i made whipped potato for 300 people and one hour before serving..discovered it was spoiled. i left it out at midnight thinking it would be easier to reheat....boy i learned and i must have taken a stupid pill! i rushed to the store and bought every box of instant potato and doctored it up good but it was not the same and still turn red when i think of this! i think i used about 60 large boxes of good quality instant potato.

Old Fashioned Crumb Cake
I doubled the crumb topping as we like the crumbles..a Dominican vanilla was added to the batter and a smidge of rum. added cinnamon to crumbles..was like my favorite drake cakes as a child..this should not be a spice was wonderful

Polish Style Lasagna
i really never dislike a recipe..but!..i love noodles and love onions..and got to have my cream cheese..i did not like the dish. it was very bland. i even used a little chicken stock instead of water..i would have rather had a potato type dumpling.its definetely a side dish..and i would have added sliced sausage and maybe layered with cooked white star for me.. after i took a bite..i said..what polish about it? the potato?..i'm going to try to make dumplings with the leftovers..a big dissapointment..thank goodness my wife came home with thai take-out .
