My favorite things to cook
I'm vegetarian so the area of cooking that I get to experiment with most is in baking and desserts. I love to cook breads, different cheesecakes and other bad things. Even though I don't eat meat I do still like to cook it and I use my partner as my guinea pig. I would like to learn more about pastry cooking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mum does the best Irish stew and replaces the lamb with quorn pieces. I will get the recipe up here soon.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake
Perfect. I am in England so used digestive biscuits instead but it came out great. I have read other reviews here suggesting putting it into a bain-marie and also running a knife round the edge quickly once the ovens off etc. But I followed this exactly as Taliesen said, greased the sides and didn't over mix the ingredients and it was faultless!

Challah I
This recipe makes a wonderful challah but I do adapt it a little. 1. I use maple syrup instead of honey. 2. Maybe it's because the maple syrup is so runny but I always need an extra 300g of flour. 3. I make one loaf with poppy seeds and the other I cover with cinnamon sugar (This one is also incredible for French toast). 4. I bake both loaves together for 30 minutes exactly. This recipe along with my own adaptations always creates the best bread I've ever made and is quite simple.
