Waikiki Meatballs

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2012
This is deelish, the clan really liked it, even the picky one. Only changes made--due to preference--meatballs were ground chix and pork, used 2 red bells and 1 green, doubled sauce with a tad more Bragg's Amino Acids (we use that instead of soy sauce) and added a purple onion. Wow! Was very pretty on a bed rice. I will be making this again, idk why i waited so long! ;O)

Beef N Olive Sandwiches

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2011
A good party item, got this recipe from my mom years ago and it's very good! I always rinse the dried beef before using, due to the salt and give a quick rinse to the olives as well, to cut down on the saltiness even more. I usually omit the nuts because not everyone likes them. Often times, i'll make double batch, omit walnuts/pecans in one and keep them in the other. Sometimes i'll sub dried onion flakes for the nuts, to add a different taste. Thanks, Iola, for sharing a good appy buffet item! ;O)

Ground Chicken Taco Burgers

Great burg! I make "Mexican" chix burgs that are very similar--the avocado, i mix with a bit of mayo to spread on the buns instead of sliced on top of the meat; we use our Foreman grill as well. Might try this on the char-grill sometime. Thanks mwiessner for this tasty alternative to beef burgs! This is a fun meal, especially for a group of teens ;O)

Spicy Rapid Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2011
Finally tried this recipe and this is THE BEST method, which is why i'm rating this a 5...would rate higher if possible. I kept an eye on things, due to some saying their oven filled up with smoke--had no probs with it at all. I had 6 skin-on chix breasts instead of a whole bird and used only garlic salt and Mrs. Dash's lemon pepper, due to everyone being hungry for "garlic-lemon chix" this week. Man, on MAN! Hubster swooned over this roasting method (hi-heat) b/c he loves his chix skin! (eeww).....he's already requesting more chix with Nancy's ROASTING METHOD for next week. Might try her seasonings then, we'll see. THANKS NANCY, your recipe rocks! ;O)

Baked Ziti IV

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2011
Am somewhat embarrassed to admit that the family lost all civility over this dish, it was amazing...we were pigs, all decorum lost. Usually a dish like this lasts us several days....there was barely enough left for leftovers the next day. Son and hubster did "rock/paper/scissors" for the last serving. Seriously. I only had Italian turkey sausage on hand, but the way we acted, i don't see where that made much of a diff....the only alteration i made, due to personal family preferences, was to add some peperoncino (sp?) flakes for some "palette zing." We like zingy food so i had to add that. THANKS SETHALLEN this is truly a winner in this family! ;O)

Slow Cooker Lancaster County Pork and Sauerkraut

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2011
Knowing my familys' preferences, i added brown sugar, twice the amt of caraway seeds and pepper, added a chopped onion. Served with applesauce, roasted spuds and Lima beans. This was so good, even _i_ went back for seconds and i rarely have seconds! Thanks, Kathie, for the inspiration for an amazing dinner!

This was delicious. I served this with homemade applesauce, 2 kinds of sausage and roasted spuds for a late breakfast and the fam dove into it with vigor! ;O) Thanks, kristifrancis, for sharing this tasty puffy pancake!

Excellent Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2011
As the title says, "Excellent!" I made this during the holidays and, it was a hit. I had crumbled bacon, caramelized onions and roasted mushrooms, plus more steamed broccoli on the side for those who liked more "stuff" in their soups, rounding it out with crusty garlic bread. Oh boy! What a durn-good meal! Thanks Nathan! ;O)

Chicken Sandwich Casserole

Reviewers who didn't care for this might try using a sturdier bread--sourdough or Italian/French. They hold together better than sandwich bread. Good for a weekend brunch. This was very good; the only change i made was using French bread(that's what i had on hand) and look forward to trying the ham/broc combo in the future. Thanks Teri! :O)

Chicken Breast Stuffed with Spinach Blue Cheese and Bacon

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2009
New member/rater here, this is my debut rating. :o) Very tasty indeed! The only alteration i made, was to eliminate the salt (since bleu chz and bacon are already pretty salty) and substitute flax meal for the flour, because i just prefer it to flour. Otherwise, directions were followed to a T. The fam loved it. Thanks, Judy! :o)
