Oven Roasted Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2009
Awful. These herbs definitely conflict eachother. Basil and Oregano do not belong. Too much Thyme as well. I actually rinsed my potatoes off in water and seasoned them with my own mix of herbs de provance instead.

Restaurant-Style Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2009
I made this dish with turkey sausage and completely omitted the bacon. Used half-and-half instead of cream. YAY! A winner!

Perfect Baked Jerk Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2009
I'm glad I tasted the spice rub before using it. I had to double all of the spices (except salt) to compensate. Next time I would only use 1.5 tsp of salt.

Maple Salmon

Reviewed: May 1, 2009
Best Salmon I have ever tried. My all time favorite recipe. Another great recipe is miso glazed, but this is cheaper and easier to make. Marinate for 30 mins then bake.

Zucchini Patties

I love this recipe, but more bread crumbs are a must...and make sure they are seasoned italian breadcrumbs. Oh, and be sure to "punch" the water out of zuchinni.

Herbed Rice Pilaf

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
Waaaaay too much celery. Completely overpowering. Next time, a pinch of celery salt or 1 tsp of celery leaves will do you....or none. I will never make this again with celery (and I like celery).

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2009
This recipe rocked. I added in a splash of beef broth because I didn't have sherry. Was so close to the restaurant versions! A winner!

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2009
When I dont have time, I just follow the meatball recipe (adding in fresh italian parsley instead) and simmer the meatballs/steam them in quality premad sauce like bertolli. Then, I drain the oil and add in the rest of the sauce. PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!

Country Quiche

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2009
Flour in a quiche recipe? Hmm...NO! Add an extra egg or two and extra splash of cream or half and half. Some green onions too. :) I followed the recipe, I will not follow it again.

Beef Tenderloin With Roasted Shallots

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
I basically replaced the tenderloin with a cut of beef brisket, but kept everything else the same. I was told by many that it was the best brisket EVER! I made sure i poked holes via fork into the meat, added salt, pepper, steakhouse seasoning, and evoo, then let to marinate for 1-1.5 days. amazing. paper towel the meat, then sprinkle with thyme, brown it in a pan of bacon grease, then bake it covered in foil in some wine port and beef broth. Making the sauce in advance is what I did as well. The shallots/garlic/port/beef broth was excellent! Next time, I will try with fresh thyme!

Broccoli Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2009
This is bland as can be. This is one instamce where you can really taste the condensed soups unless you add in enough spice. Add in 1/2 tsp each of the following: garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, mustard powder in addition to colby/monterey cheese and milk.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2009
This recipe really masks the flavor of the fish and does so poorly. I highly recommend many people ditch this recipe and instead season their tilapia with some old bay or lemon pepper, then dredge in flour, then place on foiled pan with tabs of butter on each fish fillet. Bake at 350 for 20 mins. Once done, remove fish to a plate, foil it, and pour the melted butter/fish sauce into a pan, add 1 T butter, 1 T flour, mix on medium heat, add in splash of white wine, juice of 1/2 a lemon, chopped fresh italian parsley and pour over fish. That will knock this recipe out of the water.....forever.

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2009
This is the very, very BEST pepper steak copycat I have ever had at home and takes better than takeout. Buy pre-sliced, pre-tenderized sirloin or tenderize and slice up your own. Add peppers in last and maybe add in 1 tsp cornstarch (blended with 1/2 tsp water) to thicken up sauce and cook for an addition 2 mins. If something is missing, toss in some green onions, but seriously fantastic! Serve with the fried rice recipe on here!!!!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
Do the changes as listed in the review on the recipe page...2x vanilla extract, add salt, baking powder. Best cookies I've ever had. Sometimes I add peanut butter chips or mini bittersweet M&Ms. I would also half the recipe. Makes way too much.

Fried Rice Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
Substitute 1 or 2 of the 4 cups of water for beef broth while cooking/steaming rice. Cook rice in advance and refridgerate for at least 2 hours so the rice can separate. Cook your scrambled eggs 1st, slice them up and set aside. Then re-oil the pan, add rice, stir and cook on med-high heat for 3-4 mins, then add soy sauce. Be sure to add in the green onions and cooked egg last. AMAZING. BETTER THAN ANY RESTAURANT!
