very tasty. I just used rice rather than the orzo pasta and I used one cup chicken broth and one cup water

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2012
good! don't be afraid to make this if you don't have all of the ingredients, it still comes out tasty. I used ground turkey and I did not have water chestnuts or green onions, still was good!

Best Ever Brisket

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2011
this was great. I also added very little salt as some other reviewers suggested and I used low sodium chicken stock rather than beef stock because that's what I had on hand.

California Roll Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2011
This really tastes like California rolls! I left out the lettuce and only used 1 avocado. I did not use wasabi powder because I wanted my kids to eat it too. As suggested by others, I shredded dried seaweed (available at Asian market) and it really helped tie everything together

good corn bread. I used plain yogurt instead of sour cream and made it as muffins

Eggplant Croquettes

Reviewed: May 3, 2011
This was really good! I baked it in the oven at 350* for 12 minutes on each side. I shaped it in to patties and served as sandwiches. I see now that I forgot to add the pepper, but it's probably better that way anyway. I'll make it again.

Korean Spicy Marinated Pork (Dae Ji Bool Gogi)

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2011
really good, a bit spicy for my taste, but that's the whole point of the dish! We got the chili paste from the local little Korean market down the street. It comes in a plastic container. Served with rice and gai lan

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2012
My husband loved this. It was so fast and easy. Made it with fresh blackberries, frozen strawberries and frozen blueberries. It doesn't make a lot but it was enough for the family.

Mushroom Chicken Piccata

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2011
It's very tasty, subtle. I didn't do the flour part and just started by browning the chicken. I used chicken thighs. I also used leftover champagne from New Years for the white wine. I am going to serve it with pilaf and spinach.

Chinese Braised Spare Ribs

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2010
This was great - so tender and a good, simple flavor. I used boneless pork spareribs - they were super fatty so I took off as much fat as I could and boiling them initially as suggested was also very helpful. I followed the instructions except didn't add any salt or pepper. I let the pork boil for about 2 hours but when I tried it after 1 hour, I could tell it was already very tender.

Spicy Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2012
I really liked this - just the kind of preparation and food that my family likes. I omitted all of the spicy ingredients since I was feeding a 2 and 4 year old - still very tasty!

Caramelized Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2010
very tasty. I halved the sauce recipe because I used about 1.5 pounds of boneless skinless chicken thighs. I also put about half the amount of honey because it just seemed like a lot when I was measuring it out. I lined a pan with aluminum foil and cooked the chicken for 35 minutes at 375*, turning it over halfway.

Chuck's Favorite Mac and Cheese

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2009
this was great! I eyeballed some of the cheese items, but I just tried to keep the ratios about the same. I omitted the extra butter in the breadcrumb topping. Very yummy

Blackberry Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2009
I used ollalaberries from a U-pick ranch - ollalaberries are similar to blackberries but more tart. I did not roll up the dough either, as others suggested. I used a little less butter in the pie pan - and used an 8 in. pan. The sugar syrup made a huge mess in my oven but it got taken care of with the self-cleaner. It seemed almost more like a pie than a cobbler, but either way it tasted the same! When I took it out of the oven, I was pretty impressed with myself! I have a 2nd one in the oven now for 4th of July. I forgot to add the milk to the dough, but I think it will be okay.
