Apricot Chicken with Balsamic Vinegar

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2010
i am starting to think that the nice folks here on allrecipes just have lower food standards than i do... this is the most recent of many so-called 5star recipes i have tried, and it is really nothing special. i'm not gonna throw away the left overs, but maybe add some sriracha to try to counteract the sweetness. i would only recommend this if you already have all ingredients on hand; don't make a special trip to the store.

Curried Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2011
I make this very regularly now--yum! I never add all the mayo, just enough to make everything stick together a bit. More worcestershire and curry powder. Do yourself a favor and add some sliced almonds, this brings the dish to a whole new level

Chocolate Torte

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2010
used the frosting on "too much chocolate cake" recipe on site. cut the cake rounds in half horizontally then layered with frosting and sliced strawberries to make a monstrously rich, amazing 4 layered behemoth of a cake that was SO good even my boyfriend's friends (who hate me with a passion) couldn't help but compliment it :)

Raspberry Chocolate Torte

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2009
This is my favorite cake to make for any occasion! People practically lose their minds when they first see it, and then again after tasting. I never add nuts, just a personal preference. I have made it with devil's food but it comes out better with a chocolatier cake mix, like Triple Chocolate or some such variation. Be really careful not to overcook the cake. And it is far far far better after its been refrigerated for at least six hours, adds more texture to the frosting. People assume that cream cheese frosting will be rich but the most common comment I receive is "it's so light!" Can't say how glad I am to have found this recipe.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2010
this is the best chocolate cake ever. however, every time i have made it, the edges have started to harden by the time the middle has set, and i have to cut off the lower outer rim/corner of each cake round. i've experimented with tweaking the temperature/cook time to avoid this but have not been successful. but this has not stopped me from making this cake many times!! most recently, i cut the cake rounds in half horizontally then layered with "Chocolate Torte" frosting (from the site) and sliced strawberries to make a monstrously rich, amazing 4 layered behemoth of a cake that was SO good even my boyfriend's friends (who hate me with a passion) couldn't help but compliment it :)

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2010
the second time i made this i quadrupled the pickled ginger, along with adding fresh AND powdered ginger. i felt the flavor got lost in the myriad the first time. i also threw in half a red bell pepper and a zucchini, diced, with the onions in the beginning. this added a new aspect of flavor and made the dish more filling. it's great for parties, set out the bowl of meat with a bowl of grated carrots and another of bean sprouts, spread the fan of lettuce leaves around and let everybody build their own while you listen to the compliments :)
