I grew up in the heart of the Midwest, and moved out to Colorado to complete my graduate degree. I am working towards pursuing my dream of becoming a great family therapist, and am enjoying all of life's adventures along the way. I have a wonderful husband who I love spending time with. If you can't find us at home, check the mountains as we love to snowboard, rock climb, and mountain bike.
My favorite things to cook
Bread, Asian, Indian, hearty casseroles, Mexican, Italian, sweets, and trying out new recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Monkey bread or homemade waffles on Saturday mornings.
Baking delicious Christmas cookies to give away to friends, neighbors, and families.
Big home-cooked meals after church.
My cooking triumphs
I decided to cook a whole turkey for Thanksgiving. At the time, I was straight out of college and had little cooking/baking utensils. Thus, I decided to brine my turkey in a garbage bag and cooked the turkey in the oven over aluminum foil. Needless to say, the turkey actually came out pretty good.
My cooking tragedies
When I was 7 years old, I tried to make monkey bread in the microwave. It came out hard as a rock. I tried to eat it anyway. I love monkey bread. :-)
