Hash Brown Casserole II

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2014
Very good. Made it in the crockpot for Christmas morn, turned on high 4 hours but could have gone even five hours. Skipped the topping and sprinkled parm cheese on instead. Would make again.

Grandma's Gingersnap Cookies

Delicious! Made all kinds of fancy Christmas cookies for the holiday and this one was the favorite. Saved to my recipe box for sure. Loved the cinnamon sugar coating.

Tempura Batter

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2014
Made exactly as the recipe. Puffed up nicely on the onion rings and fish I made but was very light in color and bland tasting. Ended up adding one yolk for a double batch and that helped along with some basic spices to liven the taste up.

Pumpkin Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2014
It was a good savory soup. Would roast garlic with it next time. Used 1% milk and it still was creamy and thick.

No-Knead Artisan Style Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2014
I made this exactly like the recipe except to make it into 2 10" baguettes. Just like the breads we make in the bakery, just not the hefty pricetag to go with it. Anyone complaining about the texture is not looking for this type of artisan bread, because it literally was the perfect texture and taste just as it was written. Chewy inside, denser than regular bread, crispy crust. Delicious. Maybe I will try some fresh herbs in it next time.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2013
I really liked this pie. I followed the directions and used 8 apples, and it made for a substantial pie when baked. Added cinnamon and vanilla to the sauce. Tasted like a caramel apple pie when warm and when cooled just a really good apple pie. I think I would prefer a crumb topping on top in place of the lattice and will try it that way next time. I will make it again.

Black Bean and Rice Burritos

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2013
I really liked this. I used about a tablespoon of a seasoning packet for white chicken chili because I didn't want to measure out the spices. Used leftover rice from the night before and it took all of about 10 minutes to make. So easy on the budget and really good. Added cheese and tomato to the burrito. Delicious. Will make again.

Very Good. My teenage sons love pho but I have never had it so I made it as a surprise and they said it was better than the restaurant. The lime, jalapenos and cilantro garnish are a must. Delicious

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2013
I did not like this recipe, the proportions for the flour are all wrong. i could not get it to form a ball with out adding extra water and vegetable oil. Alot of it. Then it didn't rise. I will never make this again. It was a waste of 5 cups of flour.
