No-Knead Artisan Style Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2014
I made this exactly like the recipe except to make it into 2 10" baguettes. Just like the breads we make in the bakery, just not the hefty pricetag to go with it. Anyone complaining about the texture is not looking for this type of artisan bread, because it literally was the perfect texture and taste just as it was written. Chewy inside, denser than regular bread, crispy crust. Delicious. Maybe I will try some fresh herbs in it next time.

This was very tasty icing. I doubled the batch and used 2 1/4 c powdered sugar and 2 teaspoons vanilla. Crusted nicely after frosted cookies sat out a day uncovered. The cookies were very delicious and this is a wonderful tasting icing. Will definatly make again

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2013
I really liked this pie. I followed the directions and used 8 apples, and it made for a substantial pie when baked. Added cinnamon and vanilla to the sauce. Tasted like a caramel apple pie when warm and when cooled just a really good apple pie. I think I would prefer a crumb topping on top in place of the lattice and will try it that way next time. I will make it again.

Black Bean and Rice Burritos

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2013
I really liked this. I used about a tablespoon of a seasoning packet for white chicken chili because I didn't want to measure out the spices. Used leftover rice from the night before and it took all of about 10 minutes to make. So easy on the budget and really good. Added cheese and tomato to the burrito. Delicious. Will make again.

My Chicken Pho Recipe

Very Good. My teenage sons love pho but I have never had it so I made it as a surprise and they said it was better than the restaurant. The lime, jalapenos and cilantro garnish are a must. Delicious

Very good. I substituted 1% milk for the cream and it was delicious that way because I didn't have the cream. I would make it again for sure.

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2013
I did not like this recipe, the proportions for the flour are all wrong. i could not get it to form a ball with out adding extra water and vegetable oil. Alot of it. Then it didn't rise. I will never make this again. It was a waste of 5 cups of flour.

Cranberry Pistachio Biscotti

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2012
This is so delicious! I'm usually not a big fan of biscotti but I was drawn by the pretty red green combo for Christmas. They are soooooo good- I made them just as directed and loved them! I did flatten the loaf a little bit before baking and used a serrated knife to cut it. I will be making this every year I'm sure. It was yummylicious!

White Almond Wedding Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2012
Using this cake for a wedding. Baked up beautifully, nice flat layers, denser and easy to ice but still moist and delicious. Found out it actually tastes better when it sits a day or two, in my opinion. I made marble cake and straw filling. Made the choc just the same as the white and swirled together. Two white and one chocolate made enough batter for a 12" sq, a 10" sq and a 6" square perfectly. Did this times 2 for 2 layers. The cake splits well too, will be splitting to make 4 layers with straw in between.

My Favorite Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2012
I loved this recipe. It was super easy dough to work with and tasted and looked great when baked. To those of you who had trouble with the dough, all I can think of is that you either measured wrong or didn't mix the ingredients thoroughly. Shortening first, then sugar, egg, milk and dry ingred. If they baked too puffy, you rolled them out too thick! Put in freezer 30 min. These cookies were fantastic. I can't say enough good things.
