Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

I have made numerous "from scratch" tomato sauces and quite a few meatballs and was hoping to find another keeper. I was disapointed with the lack of flavor in the sauce (in spite of using home grown tomatoes) as well as the texture of the sauce (too runny). The meatballs were tasteless - actually would have been tastier to sprinkle ground beef on top of the spaghetti. Perhaps there needs to be salt added to the meatballs before cooking? Or maybe adding more parmesan cheese would help.

Cinnamon Ice Cream

The amount of cream was perfect to create the "creamy" consistency of high end ice creams but I found the cinnamon to be overpowering - just too much. Maybe use half as much?

Coco-Scotcheroo Cookies

In this recipe, Coco stands for "coconut" not for "cocoa-chocolate" and it's the coconut that givs these cookies their unique flavor. The mixture of butter/crisco means the cookies come out not too crunchy but a nice thickness, somewhat soft and in the middle. Not too sweet or too "butterscotchy," these were a hit when I made them for a neighborhood party. Great smell too!

Whole Wheat Ginger Snaps

The tops of these cookies "crackle" much as snickerdoodles do, but with the taste of unmistakable ginger. These are quite spicy for gingersnaps, with an afterbite (kick).

I made this for my St. Patick's Day party. I doubled the recipe. When I added the 2 cups of milk (doubled from the 1 cup suggested for the normal recipe), my spuds were floating in a soup. I ended up tripling the suggested amount of potatoes to dilute out the milk. The recipe should be changed to account for this.
