Slow Cooker Stuffing

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2011
Very good stuffing- and so handy that it cooks in the crockpot. I made this and a cornbread dressing- and my very Southern family enjoied both! I will make this again.

Cheesy Acorn Squash

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2010
Ohh, this is a wonderful recipe. Sweet and savory. I didn't use butter because I cooked the onions and celery in pan drippings, just for a little more flavor. Soooo good...

Honey-Spice Acorn Squash

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2010
YUM!! Wow, I've never had acorn squash before, and this is amazing. You can't taste either spice too much, its just enough. My family adored this.

Chocolate Cream Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2010
I was very sceptical of this 'pudding icing', but I made it just minutes ago, and I can tell you, it was just plain YUM!! Its silky smooth and just glossy enough, and this taste is simply wonderful- neither too sweet nor too chocolatey. Thank you so much for this one!

Easy Chicken Fajita Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2010
Pretty good soup, but my family needed a lot more broth to knock out some of the heat from all the fajita seasoning. The stuff I used was HOT! But otherwise, a yummy, filling meal.

Kabobs

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2010
Yum! The marinade was perfect for the chicken, and the veggies were flavorful. Don't forget to oil your grill though- I lost a few precious chicken pieces by sticking- oops!

Auntie's Buttermilk Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2010
A thick, almost pound cake texture, just sweet enough, and easy to work with. Perfect for carving. Thank you so much! This one's a keeper.

Donut Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2010
Pretty good little muffins, just needed a little more flavor. Make sure they are just barely golden-nobody wants a crunchy donut!

Kona Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2010
Wow, this recipe had the perfect ratio of sweet and salty! I added some garlic and orange juice for my family's tastes, and used chicken breasts. Served over short-grain rice. YUM!

Healing Cabbage Soup

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2010
This recipe is a solid four as is, but once you make it your own, its a five, for sure. I added the other half of the onion and cabbage, along with some more garlic and pepper. Make sure its piping hot when you serve it!

Parmesan Garlic Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
An easy, decent recipe- perfect for when you don't have much time. Rather than melting the butter, I left it a little more thick so I could spread it simply and added a bit of sauted, minced garlic for a better flavor, thanks!

Granny's Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2009
I couldn't get these to cook quite right. Because of the other comments, and the picture, I added another oz.of chocolate which I believe helped quite a bit. My family prefers fudgier, chocolatier brownies I think. Thanks a lot!

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2009
I'm on a quest to find the best brownie recipe at the moment, and so far, this is the best one I've made! Do not omit those chocolate chips! Be sure to use a glass 13x9 baking dish, and take out the brownies just when they're done- do NOT overcook! One of the easiest brownie recipes I've found!

Zucchini Pie II

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2009
I went out and bought zucchini for this recipe, and after making it I see why everybody is saying the its great for those with too much zucchini on their hands. It was good, but I left my recipe on the counter, and after my family saw that it was a vegetable they wouldn't hardly try it! Next time I'll just use this recipe with other fruit :)I used 5 zucchini and leakylou's suggestion for a crumble on top, which was the perfect addition. With the crumble, I would reccomend cooking it about 35 minutes.

Roasted Garlic Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2009
This was really good, if I make it again, I'll use less butter and more garlic, since my bulbs weren't huge. It also really needs to be broiled to crisp up. A really great recipe, just needs to be tweaked to my family's tastes!!

Rich and Creamy Tomato Basil Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2009
Yummmm. No need to peel or seed the tomatoes in my opinion. This is definitely a restaurant quality soup. The last time I had Tomato Basil Soup served to me in a restaurant, they left a few chunks and a put a ravioli in the middle of the bowl, and then poured the soup around it- just an idea for a wonderful presentation. This is soooo good, what a keeper!

Lane Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2009
I made this a while back for my class after reading "To Kill A Mockingbird" and everybody loved it! My teacher told me after one bite "Normal people can't so this" He was practically dancing as he ate! I used Brandy instead of Bourbon, used a full cup of coconut, half a cup of raisins, and maraschino cerries. The seven-minute icing was the perfect touch! I had to fight to save two pieces for my family to try.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2009
This is the best cornbread I have ever tasted. The recipe is perfect, I just preferred my 10 in. cast iron skillet and baked about 25 minutes. I can't thank you enough, my family simply RAVED about this! My favorite recipe so far on this website :0)
