Barbecued Beef

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2010
I browned the meat before putting it into the slow cooker and I cooled the sauce in the freezer before serving to make skimming the fat easier. This turned out delicious and I will be making it again!

Lentil Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2012
Very tasty! I did add some more spices, but the bay leaf was a good addition. My three-year-old at her whole bowl. A nice and easy way to get lots of veggies in a meal.

German Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2011
I really enjoyed making this cake and was pleased with how it turned out. I did not have cake flour, but found a substitution with a mixture of corn starch and flour. I used the original recipe for the filling, although I did read reviews to use 1 1/2 times. I did toast the coconut and pecans, and that added a great addition to the flavor of the filling. My husband really liked it as it was the my first attempt at making the cake. Great recipe!

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2010
Yummy! I usually use store-bought sauce, but decided to go all the way this time and make my own. It was worth it. I did not use fennel seeds as I didn't have any. I will definitely make this again.

I added the whole can of coconut milk, but otherwise followed the recipe. Great vegan meal with lots of taste! I will for sure make this again. I may try sweet potato or another kind of squash next time.

Salmon with Pineapple Tomato Salsa

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2013
We added this after getting a pineapple and ample tomatoes in our Bountiful Basket. The salsa was fresh and flavorful. I would have let it marinate for a while before serving if I had had time.

Ginger Veggie Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2013
I added some baked tofu to this and increased the amount of soy sauce. The ginger was really refreshing and I did follow one other reviewer's idea to add pineapple chunks. That bit of sweetness was a great addition. I served this over fragrant Jasmine rice. Yummy!

Basil Tomato Soup

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2012
This was a hit! I reduced the butter to 3 Tablespoons as others had recommended and added a bit of onion powder and garlic powder. The fresh basil was wonderful without being overpowering.

I didn't make the sauce with this, but used basil pesto. The gnocchi by themselves were delicious! Easy to make and tasty too!

Sesame Noodles

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2014
I served this warm and added some napa cabbage and broccoli. I used whole wheat pasta as well. It was a great mix of vinegar and sesame flavor! I bet it would be great with some shrimps to add a bit of body to it.
