German Chocolate Cake III

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2012
Loved this cake, it beat the box version I have been eating for years hands down so it was well worth the extra effort. I like to make the cake the day before and decorate it the day I want it, it lets the cake rest and makes decorating so much easier.

French Quarter Bread Pudding

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2012
My kids liked that this wasn't as custard like as other bread puddings and the pecans really add a lot. We love it for breakfast.

Hearty Ham Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2011
Great way to use leftover ham. I followed other reviewers advise but instead of extra onions I used shallots they added a nice flavor.

Ramen Cabbage Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2011
Boring - the only good thing I can say about this salad was it was crunchy. I cook primarily for my family so we can avoid the additives so common in processed food, yet not listed in the ingredients but in the directions was the use of the preservative laden ramen packet. I went ahead and used it since there didn't seem to be much flavor without, not enough flavor with it.

Just good, some of the kids at our pool party liked them but overall they were a bit unattractive and goopy

Zucchini-Coconut Cookie Bars

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
These cookie bars are super good. I have been making zucchini bread for years, decided I wanted to try these as something different. My family loves them. They taste like something my grandma would make, can't beat that.

Banana Sour Cream Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2009
This was really good banana bread and I have made many. I added big chunks of walnuts, yum. I also halved the recipe since it took so many bananas, wish I hadn't since then I only got one big loaf, always prefer to get two, either for freezing or gifting.

Simple Garlic and Basil Pesto

Reviewed: May 8, 2009
A very very good pesto. The Brazil nuts were hard to find, I ended up picking them out of a can of mixed nuts but they added such an interesting crunch we decided they were worth the effort. Defiantly a do over, only next time we decided to cut down on the chili powder to please our son.

Coconut-Lime Chicken with Grilled Pineapple

Reviewed: May 7, 2009
We loved this recipe! I served over couscous and my kids liked the sauce so well they were fighting over the last of the couscous to eat with more sauce. The Chicken was great, very tender and flavorful. Definitely adding to our regulars, thanks.

Impossible Coconut Pie I

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2009
My Mother In Law made this pie for our family, we love Coconut but my kids didn't care for the jellied crust. It has a defninte egg-y flavor sort of like tapioca. If I am going to the trouble to bake a pie I would just as soon make a real crust.
