Monkey Bread I

I had monkey bread once in my life and it was 7 years ago. My husband loves it but it was always not something that pops in my mind to make. Yesterday I found this recipe and I thought I'll give it a try. It took me a trip to three different supermarkets to find the biscuit dough but I finally got it and ran home to start my experiment. I did the following modifications though; used 2 containers of the dough, and increased the brown sugar/ butter sauce amount. My bread came out fantastic, and I must say, most of it was gone by just the two of us and a guest. Things I'll do differently next time; use less time in the oven because the sugar sauce started crystallizing and getting hard, and I won't add raisins, just discovered hubby doesn't like them that much. The recipe was phenomenal and easy to make, and the whole house smelled of sweet baking.

Grilled Salmon Sandwich with Dill Sauce

I personally accepted the tangy flavor of the sauce and I think It was ok, but hubby didn't like it at all and he asked me to make his sandwich without the sauce next time. The salmon sandwich idea itself was great, I had leftover salmon from the day before that wasn't enough for two if eaten alone, but would be filling if combined with bread.

Chicken Tikka Masala

I stopped the recipe right after I grilled the chicken. The taste wasn't very impressive. Maybe the tomato sauce would have enhanced the flavor, but for the chicken alone, the taste wasn't very good.

Chickpea Salad with Red Onion and Tomato

Oooooops! I forgot the parsley, but the salad turned out great. Next time I'll take it out of the fridge half an hour before serving because it was very cold.

Curried Coconut Chicken

The recipe came out good. I substituted the ginger and curry powder into a curry paste because I hate doing the ginger. I just thought the sauce was runny, not sure if that's how it should be or if it should be thicker. I like it though and I might cook it again.

Butterscotch Bread

I made one loaf to start with in case I didn't like it. I think my loaf took a little more than one hour to bake, but method and ingredients were very easy. What I did differently is adding some cinnamon chips while mixing my batter instead of raisins. My loaf cracked in the middle midway through baking and batter appeared through. This is why it took longer in the oven and the edged were little burned. I cut myself a slice as soon as I took it out of the oven and it tastes great. In fact I am writing this review while I am enjoying this first slice.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

The first time I made this recipe was for a family American breakfast overseas. What I love about Allrecipes is the huge number of true and honest critics of each recipe to make it an excellent experience for cooking. My guests praised my pancakes and none was left. Will use it from now on.

Emily's Famous Hash Browns

Came out great, tasty, crispy and full of flavor. Will do again. The only thing I added in my mixture are green onions for more pungent flavor. I must admit, the hardest part was draining the potatoes after they were shredded, took me long time.

Crescent Dog on a Stick

Pillsbury crescents are not sold where i live, so i had to get the recipe from somewhere else. The recope turned out great and i used mini hotdogs instead to give it a little bites look. Awesome!

Campbell's Kitchen Beef Wellington

I tried this recipe and I have the following tips to make it better: I marinated the beef in little olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper for 36 hours before cooking. I fried the beef in a skillet on all sides until they were brown. This seals the meat and preserves the flavor inside. To prevent the pastry from falling away from the meat, dry the meat well with paper towel to get rid of most of the surface liquids that would prevent the pastry from sticking to it. I omitted the liver and the onions and used 2 tbs of fresh parsley with the mushrooms.

Funnel Cakes I

It took me a couple of tries to get the best cake shape, but no doubt this recipe was so good that we couldnt wait till the next cake comes out of the fryer so we can fight who will get it first. I just added 1 teaspoon of vanilla.
