Bacon-Roasted Chicken with Potatoes

This was an enjoyable dish that was ideal for having during the week since it didn't take very long to prepare. The potatoes were crispy and the chicken and bacon were cooked nicely, but it seemed to lack flavour (other than bacon). My family enjoyed it, but needed BBQ sauce for added taste. Maybe some brine or dry rub would have helped the taste of the chicken which I found to be a little bland. I will try it again with my own twist. Thanks for sharing.

Lemon Chicken Piccata

I served this at a dinner party last night and everyone loved it. I pounded the chicken to make it thin and tender so I didn't need to pan fry for very long. Very tasty and tender chicken dish. I will certainly try it again.

Chicken or Turkey Tetrazzini Deluxe

Fabulous dish. Delicious, kid-friendly and easy to prepare. I used some of my own homemade mushroom soup instead of canned. It added some depth to the flavour. Wonderful one-dish meal. I will certainly make it again.

Hamburger Steak with Onions and Gravy

Super fantastic. My family destroyed every last bite. I served with smashed potatoes and brown sugar & buttered sliced carrots. Got it on the table in an hour. Worth the effort.

Autumn Apple Salad II

Four and a half stars, but not quite five. Really cool concept. Simple, fun and kid-friendly, but needed something more. I meant to toast the almonds as one review suggested, but ran out of time. I will try this again and tweak it into a five star. Thanks for sharing.

Dad's Leftover Turkey Pot Pie

Fantastic recipe. Prepared it just as set out. I made extra filling and froze it. Easy to whip this up on a school night when the ingredients are ready to go! The whole family loved it.

Broccoli Soup

Great soup. I use different variations of this formula with other vegetables. I blended broccoli with kale this time and used butter to cook down the onions instead of olive oil. I passed on the nutmeg though. Still excellent recipe.

Cherry Tomato Sauce with Penne

Sundried Tomato Tapenade

Awesome recipe. Two garlic cloves were enough. I added fresh basil which took this to the next level. Wonderful flavour and texture. Can't wait to make it again.

Roasted Red Pepper Tapenade

This was my first attempt at a tapenade. I decided on this one since I had all the ingredients on hand, except for cilantro which I substituted with flat leaf parsley. The flavour was very nice, but the texture was watery. I'd try it again but I will make sure all the ingredients are well-drained. Four and a half stars to be fair.

Baked Ziti I

Tasty and easy dish to prepare. I had some homemade meat sauce and wanted to serve it with something other than just plain noodles. This was the perfect dish. Instead of mozza and provolone, I used sliced Havarti as it was the only thing on hand. Great reviews at home. I'll serve this again for sure.

Frenchie's Salad Dressing

Fabulous dressing. I've made it a few times and reduce the sugar by about 25%. I also use olive oil which I happen to always have on hand. No reason to use bottled dressing again.

Avocado Feta Salsa

Fantastic salsa recipe. The feta and avocado get the attention, but you can also use fresh cilantro or even basil to change it up. I always get rave reviews and recipe requests when I take this with me to social functions. 5 stars indeed.

Strawberry Avocado Salad

Great salad. I wish I would have read the reviews before preparing this because just about every other reviews says the dressing is too sweet. The next time I make this, I will cut the sugar in half. Other than that, a wonderful combination of flavours and textures. My guests loved it. Nice one!

Kale and Quinoa Salad

Very enjoyable superfood salad. Great flavours and texture. Like other reviewers, I added the hot quinoa to the kale to wilt it slightly. I used almonds slivers and cranberries instead of pecans and currants, and threw in some diced avocado. Creative and tasty dish.

Warm Crab Parmesan Dip

Very tasty dip. I brought this to a dinner party and it was a hit. Pretty rich though. Light cream cheese, sour cream and mayo would probably work just as well. The fresh grated parmigiano knocks this out of the park.

Banana-Nog Cake

I rated this five stars because it was so easy and tasty. I was searching for a recipe to utilize our leftover holiday eggnog, and found this. My six year old and I made this cake and brought it to a new year party. The reviews were all positive. It needed more than an hour at 325 though. I gave it another ten minutes. The best part was getting everyone to guess the mystery ingredient!

Maple-Garlic Marinated Pork Tenderloin

Excellent & flavourful dish. I cut a centre loin pork roast into cubes and marinated for about 6 hours, then grilled on skewers with green, red, orange & yellow pepper & sweet white onion pieces. A huge hit. I'll be doing this one again soon.
