About this Cook
Two young kids means I have to come up with something delicious every night that is both nutricious and kid-friendly. I like quick easy and tasty meals. Bigger projects are usually reserved for entertaining.
My favorite things to cook
BBQ chicken, beef, pork, fish, veggies. Soups, pasta, chili, stir-fry.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Nothing comes out of a jar or bottle. Everything is homemade. Salad dressing, bbq sauce, hot sauce, salsa, etc.
My cooking triumphs
Every summer my daughter's birthday party has a crowd of at least 40. My goal is to ensure all guests leave with a full belly of gourmet BBQ love.
My cooking tragedies
A mango salad I planned to take to a function for over a week. I julienned the mangoes too small and over salted. The whole thing was a disaster that couldn't be salvaged. You've never seen a grown man cry the way I did that day. I took a last minute cilantro corn tomato salad that went down well, but didn't kill it like the mango salad would have.

Easter Lemon Bread
Wonderful recipe. I followed as directed and finished with two beautiful loaves of lemon bread. I would suggest that you grease the pans well as the sugar glaze is sticky and drips down the edge making them tough to remove. Excellent flavourful dessert!

Authentic Tiramisu
This was my first attempt at Tiramisu and I'm so pleased that this is the recipe I chose. I just followed the directions and ended up with the most amazing dessert. The only change I made was using regular coffee as a substitute since I didn't have espresso. Also, in the future I will make sure to dip the ladyfingers for just a second because I might have let them absorb a little too much coffee giving it a slight soggy texture. All in all, an awesome dessert recipe. It will be perfect next time.
