About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love marinating meats and sticking them into the oven in the morning. I also enjoy trying new recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Spaghetti and chicken in a crock pot.
My cooking tragedies
I know this sounds funny...when I first got married, I didn't know how to make rice! It took a while till I learned the system.

Sweet Potato and Apple Soup
This soup was a HIT! Even my husband loved it, and he doesn't like sweet potato. I gave this a 4 star because I forgot to add the lemon...Next time I make this, I will add less salt and more apples!

Cajun Pasta Fresca
This was yummy! I was a little nervous my husband wouldn't like the tomato pieces...(he didn't!) but we ate the whole thing! For a quick fix, I used a can of whole tomatoes and chopped it up a little. I added a bit more cajun spice salt and parsley than called for. It was very flavorful. I will definitely make this again.

Flatlander Chili
This was a big hit! My husband even asked to bring some for lunch the next day. I used kidney beans instead of red beans, I didn't have chili powder or tomato juice. I just added some water instead. I am definitely making this again! Next time I might add a bit more cayenne pepper to be more daring.
